The grounds are lovely and the bay is very beautiful. The main restaurant is excellent and the staff very attentive. We are still here and having a great time. Unfortunately our room is very disappointing. We booked a family suite with garden view or balcony through Thomas Cook - we thought we would be situated in the garden area with two rooms together as a joint space and booked with this understanding after reading the previous reviews, but at 3.00am when we arrived we were put in the main hotel first floor rooms - (not yet updated like the higher floors) - basically two doubles (no family suite about it). The rooms connected and overlook the entrance and patio where everyone walks right past to get to the main lobby and restaurant. Even at 3.00am we let them know that we felt this was not what we booked and were unhappy with the room - we re-explained our issue in the morning respectfully and were assured that they would see what they could do for us, they were professional and understanding of our disappointment. We definitely have the oldest and worst rooms in the hotel and have no privacy from our two rooms, we are here for a two week holiday as a family of five - and feel our rooms have let our stay down. The hotel say that they are full, but as it is high season we also paid the most to have the worst rooms. This is an expensive high-end hotel and we booked accordingly as a special treat expecting great things. It is difficult to say where the misunderstanding lies, with Thomas Cook’s description of the rooms or the hotel. I would highly advice anyone booking this hotel to get complete clarity on your room type. The rest of the hotel is spectacular, the fitness instructor is great and the morning exercise and water aerobics in the sea are brilliant. The gardens and bar locations are lovely and our teenagers have met some lovely friends and are having a fantastic time as are we. This is truly a special spot and has an amazing ambiance - The prices are high end for drinks and the additional restaurants but fair enough for the 5 star service offered and the spectacular settings. I would recommend the resort but advise clarity on the room type if you want an all round special holiday.
