Jupiter Albufeira Hotel - Family & Fun

Jupiter Albuferia is a 5 star family-friendly resort, located in the heart of the town. The little guests can make a splash on the infants’ waterslides, while taller kids can take on the rides housed at the thrilling Jupiter World waterpark. If you have a child who prefers to read or go for a gentle swim, they are welcome to make the quiet pool area their home. The main pool boasts a lively atmosphere where guests can have fun with inflatable toys before swimming up to the bar for a refreshing beverage.

Kids club activities take place with the animation team poolside and in the indoor play area. In the daytime the programme includes painting, water games and mud moulding, while there’s a mini-disco in the evening. Parents might decide to join a meditation session or take it easy in the spa. Here, you can book a 90-minute Aqua Soul Circuit, a relaxing massage or a beauty treatment (surcharge applies). Small groups of children are permitted to access the spa between the hours of midday and 2pm.

The onsite gym is free to access for guests. It’s equipped with modern cardiovascular and bodybuilding equipment, while the state-of-the-art plasma screens will help keep you on track with your goals. If you want a little motivation, you can hire a personal trainer. But that’s not the only form of exercise on offer, you could choose to join an archery or aqua fitness session. Alternatively, for a more gentle approach there’s yoga and pilates.

The main buffet restaurant, Montechoro, remains open from 7am to 3pm, with the national and international dishes being rotated to offer a breakfast service, followed by brunch and then lunch. It reopens at 7pm for dinner. If you’re staying for a week on an all inclusive basis, you can enjoy one evening meal at the a la carte Taberna Portuguesa and another at Alecrim.

At Alecrim the chef, Carlos Guerreiro, cooks up specialities including sea bass, confit cod, beef steak and Algarve orange pie. Taberna Portuguesa is decorated with artwork illustrating Portuguese history. As you are eating, your ears will be treated to a Fado performance, a type of music which originated in 1820s Lisbon. You may choose to devour a bottle of green wine from the Douro Valley with your meal. A further restaurant option, Al Italiu, serves pastas and fresh crispy pizzas at lunchtime and in the evenings.

The Al Bar is located on the ground floor with a terrace, providing the perfect place to grab a cocktail. During the day the self-service Alfarroba, next to Jupiter World, provides drinks, snacks, sandwiches and fruit. In the evening, maybe grab a pre or post-dinner drink at the 10th floor Al Gharb Bar, while admiring the sun setting over Albuferia.

Classic rooms are a generous 40m2 and can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children. At Jupiter Albuferia single parents haven’t been overlooked, with an alternative option permitting 1 adult and up to 3 children. What if your family is two adults, two children and one baby? Choose from the family, deluxe and suite options. If you upgrade to a Panoramic Sea View you will get a room on the 7th floor or higher, with a balcony offering fantastic vistas.

For getting out and about, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to the golden sandy beach. Here you can sunbathe, go for a swim or climb up to admire the beautiful cliff and rock formations. If it’s a calm day, maybe take a boat trip to view the Benagil Caves, or go out in search of dolphins. For a fun way of exploring the area, take a tourist train. There’s two different circular routes; you could get off at any stop and venture on foot or take it easy and remain on board for the entire route.

Nice clean hotel but not enough water left in rooms. Food was good but not enough staff serving in main restaurant. Pool was freezing cold, they don’t get heated . Staff are helpful and friendly and there’s a nice atmosphere. Shuttle to the beach was lovely, worth a visit

Amazing holiday! The best animation team EVER!

Just returned from our trip to Jupiter! What an amazing holiday we had! The hotel is absolutely brilliant for children and our little girl (4) and boy (18 months) had the time of their lives! Couldn’t fault the hotel, food and drinks were great ignore the negative reviews there’s plenty for everyone! Rooms are beautiful, spacious, and cleaned every day! However the best thing about the hotel in the incredible animation team! They work so hard every single day and deserve so much recognition! My little girl cried when she had to leave them on our last day! So a huge thank you from Willow for making her first trip to Portugal one she will never forget! Keep up the amazing work! X

Disappointment after disappointment!!!

Arrived today and what a shambles! We are extremely gutted to be posting a bad review about this hotel after reading the reviews prior to our visit. However, we have been left with no other choice! I emailed the hotel before our arrival with the following requirements… 1. Double bed requires not twin beds as we have a toddler who gets in our bed during the night and a bed with a split down the middle with two single duvets isn’t ideal! 2. Early check in, I informed them we will be arriving at 12:30pm. 3. Cot in our room. 4. To upgrade to the family room (extra £175 euros to pay when we arrive). The reception team replied to the above confirming they had updated my booking according to my preferences, they had also left a note on our booking in regards to our early arrival and a cot will be provided. All sounds so good and exciting until we arrived at the hotel …. We was unable to check in early and left with nowhere for my toddler to nap until our room was ready at 3pm! 7pm Buffet dinner was fully booked for the first two nights of our stay, they only had 8.30pm available! I mean that’s perfect if you are a couple but we have a toddler who needs a decent warm meal at dinner time, we was told we could eat at the snack bar before it closes at 6.30pm! I have never been to an all inclusive hotel and had to book into their standard hotel buffet restaurant! 3pm, our room is ready! We open the door and it’s a standard room, no cot, no children themed decor nothing (even the mini bar was empty) we have family out here with us and they booked the standard room and it was the same as the family room except for the pool view and extra 175 euros we paid!!! Of course we was in our right to complain as we had paid for an upgraded room! Therefore, we ended up downgrading and getting a refund as we saw no justification on the price difference! A lady at reception called Ana Rita dealt with us and she has honestly been the most unhelpful inconsiderate women I have ever met oh and unbelievably dam right rude!!! Customer satisfaction clearly isn’t her number one priority or strong point!! At this point my son is shattered and we have wasted an afternoon just hanging around! I would also like to add I am 6 months pregnant and felt exhausted myself and could honestly just cry!!! We have visited so many countries in our time and this has by far been the worse and most stressful experience! We arrived in our room around 4.30 and we currently have two single beds!!! We put my son down for a nap and he was sound asleep and the house keeping lady just opened our door without even knocking! I couldn’t believe it!! At this point I have nothing left in me and feel so drained I feel like they have ruined my start to the holiday. Finally, we went for dinner as we was all so hungry and to top it off I found a long black curly hair in my spaghetti bolognese. I took a picture of it and also notified the waiter. It was impossible it could have been my hair as it was wrapped around the spaghetti!! I have had enough and that was the icing on the cake!!!!!
