Yes, Salou is one of the Costa Dorada's most popular family resorts, thanks to its long sandy beaches, promenade, and proximity to PortAventura World theme park, which is a big draw for families with older children. Hotel Jaime I and htop Molinos Park are two of our most-booked family favourites in the resort.
PortAventura World is right on Salou's doorstep, a short drive or bus ride of around 10–15 minutes from the resort centre, making it easy to combine a beach holiday with theme park days.
June to September brings the warmest weather for beach days and evenings out, while spring and early autumn are popular with those wanting fewer crowds around the resort and theme park. September tops our booking charts, followed by July and May.
Most flights land at Reus Airport (REU), a short 15–20 minute transfer from Salou, or Barcelona Airport, around an hour and a half away depending on traffic. Manchester, Birmingham and Stansted are our most popular departure airports for Salou.
Salou also offers a lively promenade with bars and restaurants, watersports along the beachfront, and easy trips to the historic Roman city of Tarragona nearby.
