GF Gran Costa Adeje
7776 reviews
GF Gran Costa Adeje is in the heart of one of Tenerife's most popular areas. The sandy, palm-lined beach of El Duque is a short walk away, while the restaurants and bars of the resort are steps away. If you're looking for something other than swimming, Costa Adeje has water parks, golf and shopping. There are two restaurants and four bars at the hotel. There's a buffet restaurant with outdoor seating and one a la carte restaurant. For views, you can go up to the rooftop terrace for a drink in the bar. There's also a pool bar which serves snacks. You can cool off with a swim in one of the two outdoor pools or the rooftop pool. There's a shallower pool for children too. During the day, you can have a game of squash or tennis. The hotel has equipment you can hire. You can also enjoy family-friendly activities such as mini golf and table tennis. The hotel has a gym and organises aqua aerobics sessions in one of the outdoor pools. You can book yourself a massage treatment, or just visit the spa for a few hours of relaxation. The biggest water park in Europe is a short drive from the hotel.
Playa El Duque is 500m away. The beach has Blue Flag status and is popular with families due to the shallow water. Along the sand there are plenty of ice cream stalls. For something more substantial you'll have a choice of restaurants and cafes on the beach promenade. The hotel is close to bars, restaurants and shopping centres. The marina is 1km from the hotel and has plenty of restaurants and bars. There's a golf course, 3.5km away.
The buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ‡ la carte restaurant serves dinner. Both restaurants have kids' options. During the day light meals, snacks, ice cream and afternoon tea are available at the hotel. You can also order room service while staying here.
The hotel puts on evening entertainment and there's a kids' disco to keep children amused. You can also play squash and tennis with hired equipment.
All rooms have either a balcony or a terrace and air conditioning. In the room there's a satellite TV, a safe and a minibar.

Terrible staff
We were visiting the hotel as part of a wedding party and had our reservation dealt with by the wedding planner. On arrival to the GF Gran, a member of staff on the reception desk, a lady by the name of Anna, confirmed that we had a half board booking. The following day we went down to dinner to be told we didn’t have half board, we confirmed there must be a misunderstanding as reception had confirmed we were half board. The waiting staff contacted reception who advised we were only b&b. We went to reception to be told that we were lying and she had never said this to us. Another member of staff told us there had been previous complaints about Anna as her English isn’t very good. But she’d get the manager to contact us. We went out for dinner and arrived back to the hotel with a bottle of cheap cava in our room that we did not drink. 4 days later and still nothing from management. We went down to reception to be told that because the cava had been sent, they didn’t feel the need to contact us. I then spoke to the manager who apologised that we had misunderstood what Anna had told us (I’m not sure how it’s possible to misunderstand someone saying “you are half board and you get this ticket stamped twice a day”). The staff are liars and do not have basic customer service skills. I would not stay back here and would not recommend this hotel. The poor service we have received has ruined our holiday.
Excellent Staff (apart from 1)
Been to the hotel a number of times but since the Victoria had opened nearby that was our preferred choice. We returned to the Adeje Gran and overall not disappointed. Stayed B&B and can honestly say breakfast staff were brilliant, offered drinks straight away and never had to wait. Room tired but very clean and kept this way by excellent cleaning staff. Poolside bar staff again excellent, friendly and looked after us. Would have been 5stars but for, Sunbed towel policy. Excellent idea however why do the pool staff only enforce this between 09:50 and 10:00, needs to be done constantly pre 10:00. This led to panic reservations and having to set alarm clock each day as people getting up early, reserving beds and heading to breakfast. As long as you’re back by 09:50 you were safe. Not good at all. Be careful of the front pool it’s very dangerous. The pool floor is unbelievably damaged, as an adult I could fit my whole foot into cracks in the floor, sharp pieces of filler/ cracked floor on the pool bottom. My 10 yr old daughter damaged her foot on the last day resulting in 4 of her toes bleeding due to the debris. I’ve read on here the lack of atmosphere around the pool area. Can honestly say the animation team were brilliant. Very engaging and activities were good for all ages. Staff across hotel very pleasant and couldn’t do enough for us. They are a credit to the hotel. Sadly the last person we spoke to was the lady who checked us out. Not pleasant at all, didn’t say thank you, was everything ok with your stay, safe journey, come back soon etc. Even our 10yr old daughter commented and said what a rude lady. This was our final memory of the Adeje Gran, she was awful and not at all a good advert for the hotel. It appeared we were doing her a favour by being there. It is because of the pool damage, towel policy not being constant pre 10:00 and the rude reception lady that we give a 4* review which is sad as she clearly let her colleagues down from the politeness and customer service perspective. We come to Tenerife 3 times a year, hopefully Adeje Gran you can sort these issues out as it may well be the Victoria again for us. Big thank you to all staff apart from 1.
10 day stay in august
10 days in Gf gran Costa Adeje Booked pool/Seaview room ahead by emailing hotel direct , and additional €12 per person per day charge was €240 extra Room was 475 on the 4th floor . Join the Facebook group Granners before you go , anything and everything asked and answered . Very helpful . Checked in quickly arrived late Monday evening around 10pm . Jorge showed us to our room , really nice guy always made time for us . Bottle of cava in the room with glasses and ice bucket . Nice touch . Room was 2 singles pushed together, couch bed that folds out . Balcony 2 tables and chairs , armchair , small table , dresser top ,. 2 wardrobes, lights aircon controls on wall . Limited sockets . Bring a 4 plug extension lead . Bathroom had bath/shower screen His and hers sinks , toilet and bidet adjoining. Little hallway that runs between sleeping area and bathroom, we stored or cases there . Cleaners are around every morning wet floor sings up as they mop the floor first, be carful. Room was always spotless . Magdalena was looking after us very well . Hotel is Huge . You couldn't cover the space it takes up in a little walk around Takes a day or two to know the lay out . Went B&b so can only comment on that . Wide variety of breakfast food every morning . If you like Tea bring your own as the tea they serve at breakfast is diabolical. Same as in the rooms . Adults only pool is chilled out , little bar beside it , plenty of loungers . Main pools have the kids the lilos and the entertainment. Hotel staff remove towels of people who leave beds unattended and go missing around 9.30 to 10 . People have found a way round the towel police as they're called by leaving 1 person at the reserved beds to say they are just coming now . . . Used the Gym , and booked a Spa .€ 50 , 2 people for the hour , and it's just the 2 of you Which was good .please be carful in spa area at the loungers. Most of the room is rough material but at the loungers its a white tile which is very slippery when wet , a bad design flaw in my opinion and could easily catch you of guard. Hotel needs an update pretty soon as the Oak theme and older style tiles running trough the entire floorspace are dating fast. Damaged cracked and chipped tiles just take the look off the place , I would imagine the tiles were discontinued a long time ago otherwise they'd have been replaced . Some WCs were obviously updated and look much more in keeping with a newly built 5star . We really enjoyed our stay and would go back again . Staff are great .
