GF Gran Costa Adeje

GF Gran Costa Adeje is in the heart of one of Tenerife's most popular areas. The sandy, palm-lined beach of El Duque is a short walk away, while the restaurants and bars of the resort are steps away. If you're looking for something other than swimming, Costa Adeje has water parks, golf and shopping. There are two restaurants and four bars at the hotel. There's a buffet restaurant with outdoor seating and one a la carte restaurant. For views, you can go up to the rooftop terrace for a drink in the bar. There's also a pool bar which serves snacks. You can cool off with a swim in one of the two outdoor pools or the rooftop pool. There's a shallower pool for children too. During the day, you can have a game of squash or tennis. The hotel has equipment you can hire. You can also enjoy family-friendly activities such as mini golf and table tennis. The hotel has a gym and organises aqua aerobics sessions in one of the outdoor pools. You can book yourself a massage treatment, or just visit the spa for a few hours of relaxation. The biggest water park in Europe is a short drive from the hotel.

Playa El Duque is 500m away. The beach has Blue Flag status and is popular with families due to the shallow water. Along the sand there are plenty of ice cream stalls. For something more substantial you'll have a choice of restaurants and cafes on the beach promenade. The hotel is close to bars, restaurants and shopping centres. The marina is 1km from the hotel and has plenty of restaurants and bars. There's a golf course, 3.5km away.

The buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ‡ la carte restaurant serves dinner. Both restaurants have kids' options. During the day light meals, snacks, ice cream and afternoon tea are available at the hotel. You can also order room service while staying here.

The hotel puts on evening entertainment and there's a kids' disco to keep children amused. You can also play squash and tennis with hired equipment.

All rooms have either a balcony or a terrace and air conditioning. In the room there's a satellite TV, a safe and a minibar.

Another great stay at The Gran

May 2022 | RoraJK

Once again a lovely stay at The Gran. Hotel very welcoming, rooms comfortable, staff very friendly. We opted for All Inclusive, the food overall was very good, a lot of choice. There were a few items that were hit and miss (over cooked and dry meat or under cooked fish), but considering the travel/hospitality industry is just recovering from the impact of Covid and also cooking for a vast amount of people three times a day, there really isn't anything to complain about. The breakfast and the pasta at dinner were amazing! The other thing is you now need to book your table for lunch and dinner. Initially we thought this was going to be a nightmare as it took away the flexibility of going for dinner when you felt like it. However we travelled as a large group and booked dinner for 7:15pm each day which actually worked out lovely. We ate together and then went to watch the entertainment together. The entertainment, like the food, was hit and miss. Some nights it was great and other nights it was not so great. We watched the Elton John Tribute act and couldn't hear any singing due to the piano being SO loud. However on another night we watched the Two Tenors and they were incredible. After a long few years with Covid and despite these little niggles, it was great to get away finally and we certainly don't regret returning to The Gran. We are already looking for our next trip. Also it was great to see Moses is still there ensuring everyone has a drink in their hand and having a good time.

Great hotel just a few suggestions to make it amazing!!

Just back from a lovely stay at the Gf gran we had a lovely time at this hotel the hotel is very beautiful and I can’t fault the cleanliness, the smell as you walk in was amazing!! All the staff work very hard and are so friendly!! We were all inclusive and the drinks that we had were very good I just wish that all the drinks were included and that we had the same glasses and service as paying guests in the evening also not all the cocktails were included which was a disappointment but can’t fault the quality of the ones we did have!!! My husband has a very serious Nut allergy which was very difficult at this hotel in the evenings as they bring them round to the table every time you have a drink so we kept having to say no all the time! If they didn’t serve them at all would be brilliant but if they do have too Then maybe giving guests who have an allergy a card that we could put on the table so they know to avoid bringing them would be great!! Pool and grounds are amazing very tropical and we were always able to get a sun lounger and there were 6 of us, Rooms I would say were very traditional they were nice but I would say could do with an update especially the bathroom the shower was very dated!! I also think all inclusive guests should have water in the room every day!! Bit of a pain having to ask at the bar all the time! The buffet restaurant for me was great as I like salads so always could find something but the men of our group got a bit fed up of the buffet as it was very repetitive when you have been there for two weeks but again what I did have was nice!!! We only had one bad experience in there by one of the restaurant staff called Claudia as I left the restaurant to change my baby’s nappy I walked back in and she got another staff member to get me out the restaurant in front of everyone to accuse me of trying to take food out of the buffet which was very embarrassing, as all I was doing was changing my son maybe a misunderstanding but not nice!! All in all we had a brilliant holiday I would come back but I do think there is few things that they need to do to make it more of a 5 star.

Highly recommended

First impressions was of a fantastic foyer. We knew this was going to be a first class hotel. The receptionists were extremely pleasant and helpful and we were allocated room 340. Just a minor point but there didn't seem to be a porterage service should you need one. Up the glass lift and through the wide corridors lush with greenery, we arrived at our room. The bed was super king, the balcony faced the mountains, there was a mini fridge with water and tea and coffee making facilities. Everything was spotless. There was ample hanging space and room for cases too. The air conditioning was more than adequate. One small issue was that when you ran out of coffee or milk you had to contact reception. The cleaners didn't replenish the items. We opted for bed and breakfast. The buffet breakfast was extensive with an enormous choice. We were delighted with it. Tables were wiped down before being reused. The serving staff were excellent. The pool areas were fantastic. One was heated but once swimming the other was fine too. There were ample sun loungers. Towels could be collected from the cabin. Take note though the hotel is strict about reserving sunloungers and will remove items before 10am. Opposite the hotel is the 467 bus to Los Christianos which was definitely worth the 3 euros A taxi ride there would be about 10.euros. There is a large market opposite the hotel every thurs and sat and a free bus service to Siam shopping village just up the road. We also caught a taxi for 5 euros to the small fishing village of La Caleta. Lovely for a drink and/or meal overlooking the sea. The area itself is family and couple orientated. There are a selection of bars, shops and restaurants near the hotel. We walked down the hill from the Fanabe hotel and walked along the busy and vibrant beach front. The land train for 9 euros was also worthwhile. Finally the entertainment at the hotel was varied but to be honest some of the evening entertainers left a lot to be desired. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return.
