Excellent location and friendly helpful staff
We have just arrived back from a weeks' stay here and I would not hesitate in recommending it. We arrived in the middle of the night with the welcome of a small meal left for us in our room. The room was beautiful with a swim up pool and an excellent bathroom with the best shower I have ever come across in Greece! The staff without exception were friendly and professional and all went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfasts were amazing with a fantastic choice for all tastes. The food in the evening was just as nice. The hotel grounds were immaculate as were the rooms.
Damned good
Spent 3 weeks here in October and had a great time. It is immaculately clean and a pleasure to spend time at, whether it be at the pool or in the bar and dining areas. As others have mentioned it is a 15 minute walk into Elounda centre but its a very pleasant walk and we found this to be a bonus rather than a negative. In fact one of the things we liked about the area is the fact there are so many places to walk and visit. There is also a bus stop just outside the hotel and we made good use of this. The buses were clean and smart, cheap and pretty reliable. We were half board and the food was good. However the food from the Hotel restaurant (at lunch time) was outstanding and I can't recommend this enough. Everything we had here was superb. As others have said the staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. My review would have been a 5, but for a few small things. The internet could be intermittent and the showers were a bit hit and miss temperature wise. They started off warm at best but by the time we left they were super hot. We also paid extra for a superior sea view bungalow. This was fine and came with a fridge which was useful, however it was north facing (as indeed are a lot of the rooms) and so although we had a terrace it received no sun what so ever. This might be handy in Summer but not in October and in fact we barely made use of the terrace in the entire three weeks. Minor things overall and this is a hotel we would definitely recommend.
Elounda Palm October 2022
The Elounda Palm is a lovely small hotel, very clean and well run, and the staff were always cheerful and helpful with nothing too much trouble. The grounds are well maintained with a good sized pool. The restaurant has tables inside and out, and you can sit where you want, subject to availability of tables and the weather. The food was always excellent with a good choice, I am a fussy eater but always found lots that I could enjoy. The restaurant overlooks the pool area, and is really pretty in the evening with all the lights on. There is a pool bar which serves lunch and snacks. It is a bit of a hike to walk into Elounda, but not too taxing, and you can get a taxi back in the evening if you prefer, cost 7 Euros. However the one thing that spoilt our enjoyment was the room, we booked a Classic Sea View and the room we were allocated did not look like the one on the hotel's web site. It was small with much of the floor space taken up with a pointless large coffee table and two stools, so there was nowhere to sit comfortably in the room. There was a nice sea view, but the chairs on the balcony were hard wooden upright ones and not comfortable at all. Also not enough storage for clothes. The shower could have done with an upgrade too. We had a relaxing week at the hotel, but the room did let it down, book a higher grade of room if you want a better one.
