Mitsis Rodos Village Beach Hotel and Spa

Mitsis Rodos Village Beach Hotel is a family-friendly hotel in Kiotari, on the southern coast of Rhodes. Thanks to the elevated position you can admire panoramic views of the clear sapphire blue Aegean. The private sandy beach below can easily be accessed via a set of steps. The main resort centre is just over 2km away. Here you will find a range of restaurants and bars where you can try local treats, such as baklava pastries.

If you enjoy swimming you’ll be spoilt for choice with four pools - one indoor, two freshwater and a further seawater option. For beginners and those who haven’t taken a dip for a while, lessons are available. If you prefer to stay dry, you can take to the tennis courts or head to the beach for archery, volleyball or football. And if that wasn’t enough there’s gymnastics, aerobics and water polo on offer as well.

The little guests can join the Mini Club offering a range of fun activities. They’ll also have access to two kids pools, a playground and an indoor games room. All day entertainment is on offer for the grown ups too, with live music, dancing shows and cocktail nights among the inclusions on the programme.

Chill out with a brandy, Mojito or lemonade at the beach bar. It’s just one of the five places guests can get refreshments, which combined offer both alcoholic and soft drinks from 9am to 2am. Light bites, including pizza fresh from a log burning stove on the beach, are also available.

The main buffet restaurant is open 24 hours a day, allowing you to make the most of your all-inclusive perks. Choose between an indoor table and one out on the balcony, overlooking the pools. Those preferring a more formal dining experience can reserve a table at one of the four a la carte eateries. Whether you wish to devour Greek Moussaka, Italian Risotto, Mexican Fajitas or Japanese Ura Maki, they’ll be something to make your mouth water.

The onsite spa offers a world of beauty and relaxation with two treatment rooms, a sauna and a steambath. The menu includes services such as Sea Salts Body Scrub, Sea Foam Exfoliation, Thermal Algotherapy and Indian Head Massage. (Note that treatments require an appointment and incur an additional charge.)

Rooms feature air conditioning, satellite TV, a safe, mini fridge (restocked on alternate days) and a balcony or terrace, overlooking either the garden or sea. Family options can cater for up to five people.

If you want to venture further afield, Lindos (14km away) is a fishing village that was founded in the 6th century BC. You might like to wander the narrow winding streets, intended to confuse any invading pirates, or simply relax on the terrace of one of the many bars and restaurants. Alternatively, walk down to the sea to take a swim in the clear and sheltered cove, which is surrounded by a rocky headland or make your way up to the hilltop Acropolis.

The major issue we had arose on the final day. We had realised one of our bags full of gifts had disappeared from our bedroom. We had spent 30 minutes searching the room before sharing this with reception. When we first reported this they were hesitant to do anything and made us feel like we were lying, and were very defensive about the whole situation. We then requested the manager who then proceeded to search our whole room and go through all our belongings which felt very invasive. When they came back unable to find the bag we had reported missing they said there’s nothing they can do as there’s no proof we didn’t loose it ourselves. Even though we had gone through the bag multiple times in our room and had no reason to take it out again. The thing we found disrespectful was that we were not once given an apology and were made out to be liars. And the final thing they said about the whole situation was “let us know if it turns up, and we will be happy for you”. This comment felt very patronising. Even after them searching our room top to bottom they still did not believe us. Therefore, meaning we had to spend our own money again to repurchase the items that had disappeared from our bedroom. This was a real shame as the week prior we could not have enjoyed the holiday more and would’ve happily returned, but after this we will not return. The hotel buildings and locations it’s self is lovely! However, we were in the new rooms therefore there were a few finishing touches that had not been taken care of! For example, our shower was missing a raised part to stop water flowing out, meaning every time the shower was used the water would flood into the bedroom. This was fixed after 2 days of making this problem aware due to the long list of other maintenance issues reported by other guests. Also we did not have numbers on the bedroom door. It was masking tape with the number written on with a black felt tip. Despite these hiccups the room was beautiful, beds extremely comfortable! And had a sea room view which was extremely lovely to wake up to every morning. The food was delicious, with lots of options for vegetarians. The fish was some of the best we’ve ever had! Also the Italian and Greek al a carte restaurants we’re superb. However, we were very disappointed with the standard of the main courses in the Mexican and Asian al a carte restaurants. They were very bland. In the Mexican the burritos were plain wraps with plain chicken in them. Same with the vegetarian option. It was a plain wrap with just lettuce and a few beans in it, with plain rice placed on top. This was the restaurant we had chosen for my partners birthday meal, so this was extremely disappointing, especially with the food standard being higher in the buffet. We felt that there was never enough bar staff for the amount of guests in the hotel! To have 2 bar staff on each of the 2 bars was really not enough. In the evenings the queues would never be less than 10 minutes long every time you needed a new one. Therefore, going as a couple this was not very enjoyable as one would have to stay and sit to reserve the table and one would have to stand for 10-20 minutes to get the drinks. This did not feel 5*. Ingredients would also commonly run out so limited options would be available. There is an issue with guests reserving sun beds, if you’re not down by the pool by 10am you will not find a sun bed. However, the beach was always half full so was always easy to find seating down there! Overall, I would not say this hotel is performing at 5* due to many of the reasons I’ve outlined.

Wonderful hotel and stay!!

This was our first time away since covid and our first visit to Rhodes. We sadly returned home yesterday. As a family of 6 we booked two superior Bungalows with sea views. I asked if they could put us next door to each other which they kindly did. The rooms were lovely and the comfiest beds I’ve ever stayed in abroad. The one room I had a problem with the air-con not working properly, I didn’t bother reporting it as I found it wasn’t too hot at night so it wasn’t really a problem on this stay, but if I had stayed in the midsts of the summer months then it would of definitely been an huge issue. Hotel grounds are immaculate and the views are stunning from all angles of the hotel (The Mexican/ Italian and Greek restaurants have the infinity pool view which is just beautiful whilst having your meal). We really enjoyed all the buffet meals and the the a la carte restaurants… our favourite being the Asian. The food is very high quality in the buffet and restaurants. All the staff are friendly and attentive and would always acknowledge the children with a friendly face on passing. There seemed to be lots of entertainment going on in the evenings for children and adults in different areas ( live music ect). We didn’t get to take full advantage of this due to my youngest being tired most evenings. We are beach lovers so spent a lot of our days down the there snorkelling. We were taking crisps down to encourage the fish in. Seen some wonderful species of fish (puffa fish ect) even a barracuda on the last day, which was a highlight for my teenage son. The beach bars and pizza oven are a real nice touch to the hotel. The staff were all friendly down there too! The only thing I would say is the hotel is on a hill and it’s a fair walk up to our rooms, (we didn’t mind as we needed to burn off all that all inclusive somehow ) but if you had mobility problems it may be an issue. They do have golf buggy’s that will transfer you up and down if needed though. We had a absolute wonderful time and will return in the future for another family holiday. We are even thinking of a short break without the children too. I would say it’s equally good for families as well as a couples holiday. My stay advice would be.. Book a la carte restaurants in advance Beach is shingle and is not pleasant of your feet, so would advise purchasing beach shoes, there’s a shop that sells them across the road. Book a room in the main hotel if you don’t want alot of walking. Thank you for a wonderful time Mitsis Rodos Village
