Sol Palmanova-Mirlos Tordos

Sol Palmanova-Mirlos Tordos is a nine-storey hotel close to Majorca's southern coastline. The hotel is based in the purpose-built resort of Palma Nova, with its sandy beach within walking distance. The bars and lively nightlife of Magaluf are a short walk away. Palma Nova Beach holds Blue Flag status for its clear, clean waters and safe environment. During your stay at Sol Palmanova-Mirlos Tordos, days can be spent relaxing around the pool area, while younger guests splash about in the kids' pool. There's a pool bar where you can enjoy drinks throughout the day, or an ice cream to cool down. If you'd like to stay active during your holiday, you can take a fitness class on the hotel grounds. Children can have fun and make new friends at the hotel-run kids' club. In the evening you can enjoy dinner in the buffet restaurant, followed by entertainment organised by the hotel. There are live shows and karaoke for all the family, and a mini disco for younger guests. For older children, there's a games room, and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel to keep them connected. If you're heading out for the evening, you can explore the shops, restaurants and bars in Palma Nova's town centre.

Set on a protruding bay, you'll have three beaches to choose from on this stretch of the Palma Nova coastline, the closest being 120m away. All three are Blue Flag certified and feature a sandy beachfront and clear waters for paddling. Son Maties is the most popular, and offers a selection of seafront bars. If you'd like to see some more of the island, you can head to its capital, Palma, which is a short drive from the hotel. Its Gothic seafront cathedral and hill-top castle are the main attractions, and if you wander around its cobbled streets you can discover souvenir shops and traditional tapas restaurants.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed in the hotel's buffet restaurant, where international and local cuisine is offered. Between meals, you can get snacks and drinks from the hotel's pool or lobby bar. You'll also have a mini fridge in your room for snacks and cold drinks.

The hotel has a number of activities on offer to help you keep fit during your holiday, including aerobics, aquaerobics and spinning classes.

The rooms at Sol Palmanova have a bright and airy interior with a neutral colour palette. They each have their own balcony or terrace.

Lovely stay

We stayed here for 4 nights. Great location, 2/3 minute walk from beach, bars restaurant and shops. Very clean rooms, view from our balcony was great as you can see in pictures.. food and drink were good never went hungry of thirsty, luckily sits just outside of the new drinking law in Mallorca. (Magaluf) plenty of families, couples. Only bad thing we can say was that only 1 lift was working the whole time, and we was on the top floor (9) so took ages to get into the lift and to our rooms (5/10 minutes) sometimes.. but other than that it was a lovely stay and would recommend this hotel Thankyou

A pleasant quick stay

We stayed here for 3 nights for a short break in the sun. I booked direct with the hotel as that was the best deal. We had a sol sea view room. It was small but modern & clean and the view was beautiful. Only problem was the air con didn’t work for the first night. They said a machine was broken and gave us a fan but that broke within an hour. I had to make numerous complaints before this was resolved and it wanted my time stood in big queues at reception. The food was actually ok, I’m fairly picky but there was plenty to choose from. Always had the staples such as pasta pizza and chips. Salad bar, soup, antipasti items, fresh breads, grilled meats and special of the day. The roast beef in gravy was some of the nicest and most tender meat I’ve had. The deserts were hit and miss sometimes cheap nasty tasting sponges other times lovely cheesecakes and chocolate cakes. There was always cheese, fruit, ice cream and things to make an ice cream sundae. We didn’t experience any queues or waits for food but the hotel had on out been open a week and not high season yet. Drinks were fine we didn’t upgrade just stuck to the standard plan and we couldn’t complain really. They done a small few cocktails and had all the unbranded spirits, wine & larger. Plus soft drinks and orange or pineapple juice. Maybe could of done more for kids as it was concentrate juice or fizzy for them. The hotel was clean and tidy, all new sun beds by the pools. Pools were cold but it wasn’t boiling outside. Small kids club we didn’t use but we used the small play park in the evenings. Entertainment again not in full swing yet but good enough for the time of year. Ideal location a few minutes walk to the beach or the main resort out of the white back gate and there was a small fair with rides for kids out there plus a little supermarket. All in all from previous reviews I was a little worried but I needn’t have been as it was fine. I maybe wouldn’t of wanted to stay for a week as the food would be repetitive but for 3 nights it was fine.

Stay well away!!

After mixed reviews we went open minded First the good points great location and polma nova is lovely Now the horondous truth about this hotel check in staff/reception are down right rude! We got to our room to find air conditioning sensor broke on floor and the toilet seat broke and on floor (poor housekeeping) The beds in the rooms horrendous must have been from the 80s The offerings in dining room can at best be described as inedible cold slop ! We all got food poisoning. Now the entertainment if you could call it that it is embarrassing that these people were allowed on stage ! My advice is to stay well away unless you want to be sleep deprived, lose weight ,and to be spoken to like a child!!!
