February is prime time for Cape Verde's year-round warmth, while long-haul options such as Thailand, Sri Lanka and Dubai are all in their dry season, giving reliably hot, sunny days away from the UK winter.

February is half-term week, when family resorts in Mauritius and Barbados get noticeably busier alongside closer options like the Canary Islands, so it's worth deciding early on whether you want reliable warmth, a family-focused resort, or a quieter half-term alternative.

With half-term falling in February, availability for the best hotels and flight times tightens up faster than in a typical month, so booking early pays off more than usual.

February half-term makes it one of the busiest family travel weeks of the year, with Tenerife, Turkey and the Gambia all popular for their warm, dry weather during half-term.

Because February overlaps with half-term, popular family resorts can sell out months ahead, so booking as early as possible gives you the best choice of hotels and flight times.
