Sleep Quality

Another cracking golf weekend

May 2022 | zactye

I have been organising a golf tip for between 16 and 24 people for the last 10 yrs now and have stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 8 of those and it never disappoints (other than never, in 10 yrs, having been upgraded to a sea view room even though I could take them to any other hotel!). We have actually tried a different hotel in Quinta in 2019, and whilst it was a similar quality, the location was nowhere near as good. The CP has everything - lovely large, clean rooms, perfect location (close to the Marina but far enough to be away from any noise), friendly staff, brilliant pool (PLEASE buy some cushions for the sunbeds as they are not very comfortable), beach on the doorstep....I could go on What sets it apart are the staff. Sooo nice and friendly. Couldn't do enough for me and my group. Went above and beyond. One example - we had early tee times on 2 of the 4 days. Too early to get breakfast. Breakfast typically opens at 7.30am but we needed to leave the hotel at 6.45am. Without hesitation, we were offered a breakfast take-out service or they offered to come in and open breakfast for us at 6.15am!! Wow. How many hotels do you think would do that?? None that I'm aware of. One slight niggle I had was the use of the spa. Guests have to pay €12.50 to use the spa. I had paid over €100 for a massage the day before, but they still wanted to charge me for use of the spa the next say. I've never heard of a hotel charging it's own guests to use the spa. Of course you pay for treatments, but not to use the jacuzzi and hammam. In addition, on the day we were returning to the UK, we were offered use of the spa showers and changing room before we left for the airport, but for a €5 charge. For me, it's not the money, it's the principle. Seriously, €5 for a shower? Are you that desperate? Overall, it's a cracking hotel in a very good location and we will be back. Yes there are apartments being built next door but that's not the hotel's fault. Just ask for a room on the west side.

Sitting on balcony of hotel room 508 While I’m writing this review . Booked this hotel as a last minute holiday and was nearly put off with some of bad reviews but so glad we came . Our lovely room has a sea view and is Spotless . Yes there’s some building work but that’s the other side of hotel . So far all the staff are friendly and Breakfast at the hotel was good . Will Definitely come back

A solid choice within walking distance of the Marina

We’ve stayed at this hotel 3 times now over the past 10 years and you will be hard pushed to find a better hotel within walking distance of the Marina. The rooms are large and clean with lovely balconies and bathrooms. Ask for a high floor with sea view if possible. Even with Covid restrictions still in place at the time we felt perfectly safe. The pool area is lovely with plenty of beds and the hotel also has direct pool access. Don’t bother with the food, take a 10 minute stroll around to the Marina for an abundance of choices. Breakfast is average but the fruit is always lovely and fresh. We will continue to stay here for years to come. Don’t bother with Tivoli, this hotel is better on balance.
