Designed for lazy days and party nights, Cook’s Club Hersonissos, Crete was the very first hotel of its kind to swing open its doors. Putting you right in the heart of some of the most famous nightlife in Greece, you’ll find the resort’s best bars and nightclubs on your doorstep. So, whether it’s your first holiday with your mates or a chance to get back to the good times, this is the place to do it in style.
With a top location on the buzzing main street in Hersonissos, this chill-out spot offers two peaceful pools hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This is also where you’ll find Captain Cook Bar, your go-to for pre-drinks thanks to its eclectic menu of trendy aperitifs and inventive cocktails. Once you’ve decided on your drink, it’s time to soak up the carefree summer vibes as the DJ blasts out the perfect poolside playlist. And to make sure you’re fully prepared for the evening ahead, the sound goes up as soon as the sun goes down.
If you’re in need of a laid-back morning after the night before, visit the spa for a gentle swim in the exclusive indoor pool, a rejuvenating massage from one of the modern treatment rooms or a relaxing yoga session. On the other hand if you’re full of energy then there’s a gym, where you can workout as gently or hard as you like.
As for eats, everyone should find something they fancy at Cantina, with talented chefs preparing must-try dishes right in front of your eyes. Guests can choose from six food stations and a changing menu (including veggie and vegan, naturally). You can dig into barbecued Greek dishes one day and mouthwatering Asian street food the next, or feed those morning-after cravings with tasty Cook’s Club favourites. Best of all, it’s open from breakfast right through to 11am, after which the all-day menu is served until 10pm.
Time to crash? Each of the 140 rooms has a stripped-back, urban style so you can unpack and unwind. Beds here consist of two single mattresses in one large frame, providing more space than a double bed. Friends who don’t want to be that close to one another, may prefer the Large Double option, which is also equipped with a separate sofa bed. Or if you’ve persuaded loads of mates to come along, book a maisonette, offering two or three separate bedrooms and multiple TVs.
Whichever type you book, you’ll have your own balcony or terrace, free Wi-Fi, individually-controlled air conditioning, satellite TV, a safe, mini-fridge, hair dryer and bathroom with shower.
Just 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel is the departure point for a half-day boat trip, aboard a pirate themed ship. As well as the chance to marvel at the bays, you will be served a BBQ lunch on board and will get the opportunity to swim or snorkel. The island is also home to some incredible beaches, where you can unwind to the sound of those soothing Aegean waves. You’ll find the closest one just two streets away (approx 200m). You’re also a short walk from the resort’s waterfront nightclubs and lively beach parties, so no need for long, pricey taxi journeys when staying at Cook’s Club.
