Royal Seginus

Royal Seginus overlooks the Mediterranean Sea in a popular area on the south coast of Turkey. It's a short walk through manicured gardens to the hotel's own sandy beach. The hotel also has four outdoor pools and two separate outdoor kids' pools, as well as several water slides. There's a tennis court and tennis equipment available, as well as a multi-sports court where you can play football. You can also take an aerobics class or work out at the gym. Down on the shore, you can play beach volleyball or try your hand at the hotel-run water sports, with jet skiing and parasailing available. The hotel has a spa with a sauna and a Turkish bath, as well as the option to book a massage or treatment. In the evenings, the hotel runs family-friendly entertainment, including dance shows and live music. There's also a kids' disco and a nightclub for adults, with a bar that's open until the early hours. The nearest bus stop is steps from the hotel, which makes accessing the nearest town, Antalya, convenient. Along the coast towards Antalya, you'll find several more beaches, including Lara beach, which holds a Blue Flag. In Antalya itself, there are a wide range of places to eat, including well-known international restaurants and local spots serving traditional cuisine.

There's a water park steps from the hotel towards the coast, as well as two shopping centres a short walk to the west. You'll also find ATMs and places to eat and drink in the same area. More coastal restaurants and bars are walking distance along the coast to the east. Continue to the east along the coast and you'll find a number of golf courses, all a short drive from the hotel. A short drive to west towards Antalya takes you to Happy Beach, which has a number of places to eat and drink overlooking the sea.

Royal Seginus has four buffet restaurants, including one especially for kids and two offering theme nights. There's also a choice of nine ‡ la carte restaurants with options like seafood, steak, and Mexican, Italian and Chinese cuisine. The hotel's eight bars include a snack bar for light bites and a 24-hour lobby bar.

The hotel runs a kids' entertainment programme, which includes activities like face painting, as well as a daytime kids' club for ages 4-12.

All rooms have a balcony and a dining area. They also come with individually controlled air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi and an HD TV.

We recently stayed at Royal seginus on the 14th May. On arrival we where really pleased with the hotel it was stunning. The concierge staff where brilliant & took our cases & escorted them to the room for us. Rooms where a good size and beds where comfy. The cleaners where also really good and work really hard, along with the people who stock the mini fridges. The food during the day at snack bars was decent - chips, nuggets, pizza, bake potatos, sandwiches, kebabs, waffles & so on. However the big let down was the main buffet at night. It was a free for all, it would be much better if it was a one way system as people just bang into you and are very rude. it was mainly suited towards foreign food needs and not so much British so our family struggled to eat. Kids option was, chips, chicken nuggets, spaghetti, hamburgers. It would have been alot better if they also offered pizza, different pastas, bake potatos, sandwiches / baguettes. The A la carte restaurants are 25€ pp and most of the time they where closed or fully booked. The beach restaurant was where we ended up going for food almost every day but this is only opened 12.30-1600 and the portions are very small. The lifts where also an absolute nightmare as folk don't wait their turn & just barge past, mostly foreign folk again. You get in the lift & press the floor you want to go to but your up & down like a yoyo as it has a mind of its own. Most of the staff where pleasant but again they preferred foreign folk to British. If you tried to raise an issue the staff told you that they don' speak English as they couldn't be bothered dealing with it. The man from the Spa was a bit of a pain constantly round at folk trying to get you in. Big shout out to one of the barmen who works at the bar to the right hand side as you enter the hotel he was brilliant and up for a laugh, cant even member his name unfortunately. Pools where great, although a bit cold but it was never an issue to get a sun lounger. Water park was good & the kids splash park was also good. Entertainment was poor, the kids mini disco was only half an hour and again this was all foreign language so my little girl didnt understand there fore didnt want to take part. Adults entertainment was poor, 5€ for a tiny bingo strip which we ended up leaving as we waited over half an hour on a drink & weren't getting anywhere with getting one we where told it was 'very busy'. Currency, we took Lira as everyone advised us to however they turned their nose up at this and wanted euro, one barman even knocked back a tip in Lira!!! Overall i wouldn't return to Lara beach, iv previously been to Marmaris and absolutely loved that. Shame these things are letting down such a lovely hotel. Its definitely not 5*.

This is our seventh visit to this hotel .first of all i need to give a mention to volkan in the guest relations department who was absolutely first class and nothing was too much trouble a truly professional gentleman . The rooms were as good as always .now they have new management which in my opinion is not for the better if its not broke dont fix it .The staff were excellent nothing was a problem ..The food was good as it has been on previous visits .The animation team were not really that good and not a patch on previous teams . entertainment was ok thats all .

The good, the bad and the not-so-bad

This resort gave me mixed feelings. Starting on a positive note the cleanliness was great. The food was very hit and miss. The a la carte restaurants are advertised as that they have 9. When we got there only one or two were open a night and when trying to book them, we was being told they were fully booked for the next 3 days. They had a cocktail menu and when asking for a specific cocktail, the bar staff had no idea how to make it. Some would make it properly however some would just pour alcohol into a glass and serve it. The daytime food area was the best bit but the evening buffet was meh. Only 2 out of the 7 nights did I really enjoy the food. They have a different theme every night but the theme isn't advertised beforehand so if you know your not going to like it like I didn't with fish night, you haven't got time to book or go somewhere else. There's not much around at all so if your planning on going out of the hotel to explore I wouldnt bother. The slides there are really good and there's good stuff on for kids. The entertainment for adults lacked massively. Most of it was boring and just sitting down watching stuff rather than getting people involved. The only entertainment for adult during the day was darts and table tennis. The night entertainment stopped at 22:30ish and then you just saw everyone walking around wandering because they had nothing to do. Again there are no bars close by and when asking the receptionist they didn't understand us so we ended up just sitting and drinking crap drinks. The place is very beautiful to look at and elegant and well maintained but it is not 5* at all. Furthermore I felt like they was trying to charge you for absolutely everything. One night they did bingo as the entertainment for the night and came round trying to sell a single strip bingo ticket (the small strip that has around 7 numbers on) for €5!!!! It's just a massive rip off. Overall it was a nice place but I won't be coming back again. Looks like a 5* but more like a 3*.
