Mitsis Rodos Maris is a luxurious 5-star All Inclusive resort on the Greek island of Rhodes. Perched right on the Blue Flag awarded Kiotari beach, the crystal clear waters are excellent for snorkelling and calm enough to splash around with the kids. The complex is surrounded by nature, with palm-filled gardens arranged around the three outdoor seawater pools. One of which has a waterslide and is reserved especially for children.
When you’re not soaking up the Grecian sun, there are plenty of watersports on offer. The hotel makes the most of its spectacular location with scuba diving lessons, jet skiing, glass-bottom boat rides, catamaran excursions, windsurfing and water skiing. You can even explore the sapphire seas on a row or pedal boat. (Please note: motorised sports are with charge). Other activities include tennis, beach soccer and volleyball, water polo, aerobics, football, darts, billiards, Boccia and even art lessons. The well-equipped gym is also open 24 hours a day.
When you want to unwind, visit the "Zeen Spa" for a refreshing pool dip or a much-needed sauna session. Or, while you’re at it, why not treat yourself to one of their antistress massages, revitalising facials, or specialist reflexology treatments?
Kids can engage in activities like face painting, competitions and a mini disco, as well as a host of games and sports at the Kid's Club. Teenagers (12-16 years) can hang out in Tennie Club. And in the evening, there’s a games room, nightly entertainment, and live shows to enjoy.
The resort offers a fantastic buffet in the main restaurant, with themed evenings and live cooking shows. You could be sampling Moroccan-style chicken one night and Aegean köfte the next. After the themed service ends, the eatery remains open until late, perfect if you’re arriving in the early hours.
For a fine dining experience, you have five a la carte restaurants to try. Tuck into a Greek-inspired brunch on the terrace, or try the mouthwatering moussaka in the a la carte. Those with a taste for spice will want to try the crunchy tostadas at the Tex-Mex, best washed down with one of their famous frozen margaritas. For sushi and teriyaki, book into the Pan-Asian.
You’ll find many more gastronomic delights to keep you going during the day too. You could chow down on club sandwiches and juicy burgers for lunch at the American joint, take away a hot pitta from the gyros corner, a slice of wood-fired pizza from the oven on the beach, or a delicious selection of waffles, crepes and ice-creams from the Gelateria. All of which can be eaten alfresco by the pool or beach.
There are a total of six bars at Mitsis Rodos Maris Resort & Spa, with the ones in the lobby and the theatre open in the evening. For a taste of traditional Greek coffee, take a seat at the open-air cafe, Kafeneo. Or top up on drinks and snacks at the pool or beach bar.
The hotel's chic Mediterranean-style rooms feature rain showers, a balcony or terrace, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a mini bar and air conditioning. Family options offer a sleeping area for the children, separated by a folding door. For a bit of extra privacy, you may choose to book a bungalow.
Kiotari with its clear waters and long shoreline is just 50m away. There are plenty of beachfront tavernas here serving traditional Greek food. Kiotari also has a supermarket and a few small shops. If you want to venture further afield to Rhodes or the quaint fishing town of Lindos you’ll find a bus stop just outside the resort. Lindos, 14km away, is filled with white buildings overlooking a sheltered bay. You might like to wander the narrow winding streets, intended to confuse any invading pirates, or simply relax on the terrace of one of the many bars and restaurants. And why stop there when you can make your way up to the hilltop Acropolis for jaw-dropping views, before cooling off with a swim in the sheltered cove.

Wow! Very impressive
We arrived feeling a bit rubbish (flights, transfers all taking forever as you can imagine) and the warmth of welcome was brilliant. Efficiently welcomed, paperwork completed and scooted down to the dining room for a meal (despite the late hour) - great offering after travelling. The hotel had everything we could think of. Every turning was another place to feed you, or offer you another drink. The staff were lovely, especially the ladies at the dining room every morning. We asked for a packed lunch one day as we were off on an adventure - crikey we could have managed with one - it really was superb!!. Food options were stunning, from a hot dog or pizza on the beach, the a la carte in the gardens was stunning, as was the ice-cream and crepe stop on the way back from the beach. We were just before the end of the season, but no "winding down" feeling. Having the mini bar in the room regularly topped up was great. The room itself overlooked the road, but this was good for us to watch the world going by. We read on the balcony a little but usually were out in the gardens or beach. The shops across the way were winding down (really fancied crisps and couldn't find any! - not life or death honestly). We used the local bus to go to Rhodes Town which was a great trip and really easy - and to Lindos which was beautiful (steep hills for those that find it difficult). We would honestly come back to this place at the drop of a hat. We are not difficult to please, but this is the first hotel that made us feel this way. We will be back.
Beautiful and friendly hotel in the south of Rhodes
We have spent 45 days of wonderful family holidays here over the last three years. The hotel has an excellent location close to the famous town of Lindos and the beautiful sandy beaches of Agathi, Lindos, Prasonisi and Tsambika. It has a low architecture with a beautiful large and well-kept garden. The beach is long and sandy and rocky with plenty of space. It has its own genius loci with a very pleasant atmosphere. One of its greatest strengths is its staff. Reservation manager Mrs. Eleftheria is very helpful, diligent, skilful as well as the receptionist. We also very appreciative the F&B MANAGER Mr. Stefanos who worked hard and moved around the hotel all day, was extremely helpful and kind as well as his team of Maitre Mrs. Irini, Sous Maitre Mr. Georgios, Captain and smiling waitress Mrs. Georgia and others who together provided better service than Mitsis premium hotel Alila where we continued our stay. Thank you all and we look forward to our next stay.
What's not to like?
Well, there's a few things not to like. But firstly, this is not a five star hotel, not by any reasonable assessment of what a five star hotel should offer. I don't see any official recognition of its proclaimed status anywhere, so I assume it's a self-proclaimed badge of honour. In my view, having travelled internationally for over forty years, it might just about scrape four stars, but I'm being generous. What are the shortcomings? Firstly, the guest infrastructure for a hotel with so many rooms just doesn't cope. We stayed towards the end of the season, but in half-term. In the evening, the outside areas to sit were quickly filled up, with no other options than to sit inside. A guest we met said, "If you think this is bad, come here at the peak of the summer... it's heaving"... Then there's the canteen, or as they call it, the main dining room. I don't really know what to say.... On a couple of evenings we walked around thinking... "I'm not sure there's anything I want to eat here". I took a sound measurement one evening... an average of 85db, which is equivalent to listening to a food blender for the whole of hour dinner experience. And you'll particularly like the main restaurant if you have a thing for warm white wine... The main thing for me not to like was having my head badly scalded by the shower in our room in the main building... For context, the dated nature of the rooms extends to the shower/bath mixer which is non-thermostatic, so just a basic mixer tap. The temperature fluctuates without warning, from stone cold to scalding hot. I drew the attention of the management to the problem on the Saturday and was told that day the problem had been fixed... not so, and still not fixed by the time we left on the Wednesday. There was, in my view, a lack of understanding about the danger the excessive hot water temperature by the management. Apparently, scalding hot water is essential to kill Legionella. There are some good things... The staff, other than the management, are exceptional... except perhaps one of the bar staff who is a complete misery, but does know how to mix a cocktail. The à la carte restaurants are simply excellent, and the staff really shine there. Special mentions to Demetra, Irene, Elisabeth, Daniel... And many others who really rescued our stay. Two other positive points... Premium drinks in the bar, and a room fridge with wibe, beer and soft drinks restocked daily. We won't return, but I'm guessing quite a few others will...
