Located on the coastal outskirts of Paphos, this family-friendly hotel overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, where you can take a dip in the cooling waters or watch the glowing sunset. The area is known for its secluded coves for swimming, pine forests and archaeological sites. The centre of Paphos is a short drive from the hotel, with historic attractions to discover, as well as bars, restaurants and shops.
There are three main pools at the hotel. Children can make the most of the water park during the day, with a variety of slides and a lazy river. If you want to stay active, you can join the aerobics or aqua aerobics sessions that are run regularly, or go for a cardio workout at the gym. For some leisurely time with friends, there's a football area, multi-sports court and beach volleyball court. To unwind, you can head to the spa to book in for a massage or use the sauna. You could have a game on the tennis court, where equipment can be hired. The hotel runs a kids' club during the day for children aged 4-11, with a variety of fun activities including arts, crafts and sports.
As well as a buffet restaurant serving local cuisine, made by expert chefs using ingredients sourced in the area, there's also international a la carte options. These feature Italian, Greek and Mexican dishes and in the summer months offer al-fresco dining. For an afternoon drink in the sun there's a choice of three bars: the Terrace, the Wooden Cosy and the Pool Snack, also offering light bites. You may prefer to have an evening drink in the indoor Lobby Bar.
Rooms at King Evelthon come with a furnished balcony air-conditioning/heating, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, hair dryer, digital safe box, mini bar and tea & coffee making facilities. Upgrade options include Swim-Up and Superior Front Sea View, the latter offers unrestricted panoramic views of the Mediterranean. The Suite option features a Jacuzzi bathtub as well as sunbeds on the balcony.
There are numerous historical sites to visit in Paphos, so ensure you book a stay long enough to allow you to visit the many sites, as well as leaving time to relax. You could spend hours exploring the Kato Pafos Archaeological Park, an important ancient Greek and Roman city which still isn't fully excavated. Here you will see mosaics, as well as the remains of temples and theatres. Christians shouldn't miss Saint Paul's Pillar, dating from 45AD, located where St. Paul attempted to convert Paphos from Paganism to Christianity. That may not have gone as he hoped at that time but today there are numerous historic Byzantine churches in the area. For children who aren't interested in history, there's a zoo and a waterpark. If you fancy playing a few rounds of golf during your break, you can head to Marios Golf Park, a 9-hole golf course that is 2.2km from the hotel.

Not a 5 star
Disappointed to say the least we were a party of 14 all paying over £1100 each for this holiday This hotel is not 5 stars Hotel needs air conditioning throughout the hotel including corridors and lifts All reported faults and repairs were not resolved, Restaurants that are included are all booked Food was all over cooked and not nice anyway Nothing was hot just warm Unfriendly staff, the list was endless Ever time we showered the leaks saturated the floor Room was damp due to water problems Put us off Cyprus forever and possibly all inclusive!
Excellent

A good hotel, come but don’t have false delusions of grandeur
This is a good hotel, a former luxury hotel that is off the pace now. Spend the right money and book the largest room possible and you will be fine. We as a family of 4 stayed in one of the king suites and the large balcony was perfect. No need to contend with the towel games by the pool when you have all the space you need in your room. The pool is a minute from the room so we would jump in and out whenever our son desired. The water park opens later (10 am) and is less frequented by the sun worshipers, getting a sun bed and not waking up at 6am is feasible. Food is decent enough. Pasta, chips and nuggets for the kids but what else do they want/need? Note: do book the al la carte restaurants on arrival, we checked in gone midnight and weren’t advised, as we tried to book a few days later they were all booked up - shame. Staff, were all polite from what we encountered. Food, did the job, we ate offsite at times but that’s worthwhile regardless. Location, a bit out the centre but also a bit cheaper than the centre. Hotel, tired in places, but don’t spend a fortune and you will be accepting of this. So yes, not the 5 star it’s billed as but a fair property for the price. Come expecting the Savoy or the Ritz and you will go away upset, read the reviews, be open minded on arrival and you will have a good break.
