Fabulous Hotel

Just had to leave a review about our stay at this lovely hotel. I can't believe anyone could find fault with this hotel, the ones who wrote bad reviews must be looking for a freebie! When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, the male receptionist couldn't have been nicer. Our rooms were immaculate and modern. It was my birthday and the hotel had kindly left a birthday cake, a bottle of wine and fruit for me which was lovely and very thoughtful. The mini bar was well stocked and was replenished after 2 days. Bathrooms were immaculate. Food was good in the restaurants there was plenty of choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. All staff from reception, bar staff, reaturant staff and domestics were so friendly and helpful. Pool areas were great and clean with no issues getting a sun lounger by the pool or down on the beach. Overall had a fantastic stay and can't wait to return, hopefully some time soon. Thank you for a fantastic holiday.

Fantastic hotel with everything included

Just back from an amazing week in this hotel paid extra for sea view room but view from balcony across to Turkey well worth it with our wine from mini bar which was stocked every 2 days. Worth booking the Italian restaurant with freshly made pizza and good selection of Italian dishes for dinner and brunch also a meat a la carte instead of Chinese nothing too much trouble for the staff lots of sun beds by the pools and beach says it’s 10 mins to Kos town but that is by taxi €9 the cycle track starts at hotel to Lambi beach past Kos town cycle hire €5 day takes about 40 mins ( slowly) all inclusive ice creams, burgers light meals on beach full afternoon tea drinks by all pools, and entertainment every evening In all a very relaxing holiday

Well marketed, poorly executed

Maybe I should have known it wasn’t going to be good, when I tried to contact them several times before we arrived to ask for some champagne and flowers for my wife as it was our honeymoon - I never received a response. We also probably should have known after the poor check in experience that there was more to come. It genuinely surprises me the amount of good reviews this hotel has given our experience. Luckily we were able to have a good honeymoon but that was sadly nothing to do with the hotel or the staff. Check in - took a long time with no explanation as to why and we didn’t get any of the expected welcome drinks or flowers in the room as advertised. There is also no welcome pack or any details about anything in the hotel, in the room there is just a sea of QR codes at reception to try and access lots of different pieces of information. If they want people to do this that’s fine but at least provide the QR codes in rooms. Room - clearly done well but many years ago, it was quite dated and ill maintained. The maid daily was very good but the re-stocking of the minibar every other day rarely occurred and if it did only certain things were replenished. Room Service - we had a pool room which is advertised as including free room service for drinks and snacks however upon first trying to get this a tray charge was mentioned. After several minutes of back and forth with reception they realised these words were indeed advertised on their website, so obliged. Sadly, this was not the end of our troubles with room service whenever we ordered on most occasions we would need to order it twice sometimes three times in order to actually get it delivered. Pools - the pools are well maintained, including the one in our room. They are not heated so was a bit chilly but that’s fairly normal in most places. Beach Bar - we went here most days for lunch for reason you will read below. They provided a great burger and gyros with friendly and helpful staff. Crepe/Waffle Bar - only two staff manned this and only one was trained to make the crepes and waffles so often quite a wait but they were very good and again helpful. Family Pool Bar - it was the closest bar to us so we used it often and the young lady staffing it was very nice and helpful. They also had fresh rolls everyday again another good place to avoid having to eat in the restaurant. Food - overall pretty awful the buffet was at worst it was stone cold at best luke warm. It is largely the same food daily which we were not expecting in somewhere claiming to be 5*. If you are going I suggest sticking with the chips and fresh grill if you want a hot meal! Men are also required to wear a closed shoe and trousers for evening meal marketed as “fine dining” which is a joke in both respects. They make it somewhat clear that trousers are required on one of the QR codes pages but no mention of a closed shoe, so we queued and almost sat down the first night and then got kicked out by the woman who just ushered us in. Which was quite funny in itself as she was making this point to me in my smart trousers and shirt with flips flops a man walked past in bright blue shorts and white trainers but this was fine..? The two restaurants are actually just penned off corners of the the larger restaurant that has a cattle market feel when busy! We ate at both of them once and they were nice as each meal is cooked fresh literally in front of you, hygiene standards were questionable though and you have to book them soon as you arrive to have chance at eating there. Bars - all the bars have a good menu choice the biggest problem is lack of staff to serve you, and if you try and get a drink at the bar your often ushered away and told to wait for the server who takes forever to arrive. This is more a failing of the hotel than the staff as they need at least four times as many staff to cover such large area in each of the main bars. We were fairly lucky but one evening a couple behind us ordered their drinks no less than 5 times before they actually came, in this time we had two rounds ourselves. Conclusion - I would not recommend nor stay at this hotel again which is such a shame as it was meant to be our honeymoon so likely somewhere we would have liked to return to. Thankfully we are fortunate enough to book somewhere else and hopefully have a true 5* honeymoon experience which this certainly was not.
