Best for: Families, groups and lively evenings
Ayia Napa is Cyprus’s busiest beach resort, with Nissi Beach, All Inclusive hotels lining the coast and a nightlife strip that keeps the town buzzing after dark. By day, Blue Flag beaches and nearby waterparks make it just as appealing for family holidays. Larnaca Airport is a 40-minute transfer. Explore our Ayia Napa All Inclusive holidays for stays just steps from the beach.
Best for: Couples, families and culture
Paphos brings together beach hotels, a working harbour and UNESCO-listed archaeological sites – including the 5th-century mosaics at the House of Dionysus – on Cyprus’s southwest coast. Smaller coves sit alongside spa hotels and adults-only stays, with a wide range of Paphos hotels to suit every budget, while the cafés around the harbour stay open well into the evening. Paphos Airport is 15 – 20 minutes away. Check out our Paphos All Inclusive holidays for beach days and ancient sights.
Best for: Families and couples
Just along the coast from Ayia Napa, Protaras centres on Fig Tree Bay, where calm, shallow water makes beach days easy with younger children. The atmosphere is more laid-back than neighbouring Ayia Napa, with beachfront hotels, restaurants overlooking the bay and coastal paths linking nearby beaches. You can expect a transfer time of 45 minutes from Larnaca Airport, with Protaras holidays covering everything from Bed & Breakfast to All Inclusive stays.
Best for: Couples and city-and-beach breaks
Limassol centres on a working marina, a long seafront promenade and beaches stretching east of the city centre. There are fewer dedicated All Inclusive hotels than in Ayia Napa or Protaras, making it a good base if you’d like beach time alongside restaurants and sightseeing. Check out our Limassol All Inclusive holidays for beach-and-city stays, with Larnaca Airport around 35 minutes away.
Best for: Short transfers and groups
Built around Cyprus’ main international airport, Larnaca is a convenient base if you’d rather spend less time on the road after landing. The palm-lined promenade, city beaches and waterfront cafés give it a more local feel than the larger purpose-built resorts. The town centre and beach are just a short walk apart, and Larnaca Airport is on the doorstep. Discover our Larnaca All Inclusive holidays for stays close to the airport.
Families
Kids’ clubs, waterparks and calm, shallow bays make Cyprus well set up for family holidays. Explore our Ayia Napa hotels, close to some of the island’s best-loved beaches, or stay in nearby Protaras.
Couples
Paphos and Limassol give you beach days, spa hotels, harbour restaurants and sightseeing in one trip. Check out our Paphos holidays for adults-only stays and a mix of coast and culture.
Groups
For groups, an All Inclusive holiday helps you stick to a budget, while Ayia Napa’s bars and nightlife keep the evenings going long after sunset. It’s Cyprus’ top pick for friends travelling together.
Cyprus can be good value for an All Inclusive holiday, especially when you compare it with parts of the western Mediterranean. An All Inclusive package means breakfast, lunch, dinner, local drinks, snacks and entertainment are already covered, so more of your holiday spending is planned before you travel.
Ayia Napa is often the first stop for lower-cost All Inclusive breaks, while Larnaca is worth considering if you’d like a shorter transfer. For school holidays and the most in-demand hotels, booking earlier usually gives you more to choose from.
July and August are the hottest and busiest months, while April, May, June, September and October bring warm weather, fewer crowds and can offer better value.
Flights from the UK take about 4.5 hours. If you’re staying in Ayia Napa, Protaras or Larnaca, you’ll usually fly into Larnaca Airport. For resorts in the west of the island, you’ll normally arrive at Paphos Airport (PFO).

Yes, especially if you’d like to plan more of your holiday spending before you travel. Having meals, drinks and some entertainment included can make budgeting simpler, particularly during the summer months. Just remember that what’s included varies between hotels, so it’s worth checking the hotel’s website before you book.
There’s no single best resort for everyone. Ayia Napa is a popular pick for families, groups and evenings out, Protaras is known for Fig Tree Bay and a more relaxed atmosphere, Paphos mixes beach days with historic sights, while Limassol is a good fit if you’d like to mix beach time with a city break.
Yes. Cyprus is well set up for family All Inclusive holidays, with kids’ clubs, waterparks and beaches with calm, shallow water. Protaras and Ayia Napa are both great choices, thanks to their beaches and range of hotels designed with children in mind.
