Beach lovers: Calling all sun worshippers... The 8km golden-sand beach is the perfect spot to catch a few rays. There’s a pretty promenade, too, where you can grab a bite to eat or a cocktail or two.

Families: Wide beaches and calm, clear waters make holidays here ideal for families. Water sports will keep older kids entertained during the day before mini-discos take over for the little ones at night. Plus, there’s always the super slides at nearby Troy Aquapark.

Shopaholics: Whether you prefer chic boutiques or bustling markets, your Lara Beach holiday calls for a little retail therapy. Load up your Thomas Cook Cash Passport before you go to lock into the best rates, and you’ll have even more money in your pocket for those special treats.

Getting around Lara Beach

By dolmus: Take the dolmus (they’re the local mini buses) alongside the beach to find your ideal spot; it’s like having your own shuttle! They’re a quick and easy way to get around the resort, and you can hop on and off as you like. If your Lara Beach holiday is on a tight budget then this is a great way to save some money.

By bus: If you want to venture beyond the resort, there’s a regular bus that connects the resorts along the coastline. You can get to the city of Antalya from here in about 20 minutes, and tickets are really affordable.

By taxi: Look out for the yellow taxis; they’re easy to spot and readily available. They run on a meter, but it’s wise to ask for an estimated price before you hop in. They also make for a simple and affordable airport transfer; Antalya Airport is just under 30 minutes away, so they won’t break the bank.

Events in Lara Beach

Sand sculpture festival: From June onwards, the beach welcomes the International Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival. This is one of the biggest event of its kind in the world, and hundreds of sandy creations are based on a different theme every year. This is extreme sandcastle building!

Opera and ballet: Over in Antalya, a highlight of the annual events calendar is the International Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival. It’s a sophisticated affair, taking place in the spectacular 2,000-year-old open-air Aspendos Amphitheatre. The acoustics are just unbelievable, and it’s an absolute must for culture fans.
