It takes a long time to describe all the shortcomings, at every step you can see the savings of the owners at the expense of the customer, food of very poor quality, the cheapest, not fresh, random employees, lack of organization, you can exchange endlessly, this is not a 4-star hotel, I do not recommend it!

This Hotel Continues to Impress Year on Year

We have been staying at this hotel every year for almost 10 years now. We have come to know the staff very well and they us. Our most recent trip was in September/October 2022 and was the first one for my daughter and I on our own, having sadly lost my partner at the end of 2021. My partner had been very popular with the hotel staff and they were genuinely sorry to hear of his passing. This meant huge hugs and many tears from all the staff when we arrived, as always greeted as if we are family. And then they looked after us as they always do, for the whole of our stay, offering friendship, support when needed and the usual excellent service. This wonderful hotel run by Yiannis and his two sons Pavlos and Bart, along with extended family and long serving staff, really is a gem of a find in the beautiful island of Crete. You can walk to Elounda in less than 20 minutes where there is a wealth of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. We travel on All Inclusive basis for convenience but we always sample the local hospitality as well. The hotel is set on a steep hill which is why we have the wonderful views across the bay. I can watch the light changing on the mountains on the other side of the water for hours on end and not get bored! The view from the hotel is truly stunning and the scenery everywhere on the island is beautiful, dramatic and never ceases to amaze us. Don't let the hillside location put you off! There is a minibus and a golf cart to take you up and down the hill, all the way up to your villa or apartment if needed. Over the years we have seen many changes to the hotel and one of the reasons we keep coming back is that we know that the family are on top of their game in bringing the latest facilities and services to their guests. The pools are all clean and well maintained, as are the rooms (some are dated but still clean and well maintained and the age adds to the charm). The bars and games rooms are always clean and very ably run by the team of Maria, Kris, Illias, Bianca and Anna-Maria (hope I've not missed anyone!) all extended family staff who will do their best to get you whatever you want, with an enormous smile and friendly words. There is an entertainments team in high season, however, we are stalwarts of the older days when we enjoyed the Greek nights, the disco, bingo and karaoke overseen by the amazing Maitre d' Georgios and we appreciate that when we visit at the end of the season, this is still available to us, while the kids entertainment can still carry on in the open air arena. Food is excellent, wholesome and well presented with plenty of choice. There is a kids menu (which we note also goes down well with some of the fussy eater parents!) with different meat and fish "mains" every lunchtime and evening, as well as vegetarian options, a huge variety of salads and always a good spread of desserts and fresh fruit. Breakfast is equally varied and surely caters for every possible taste! Georgios' wife Kristallo is responsible for menus and puts her Greek heart into producing home cooked, wholesome, typically Greek dishes. If you have a favourite dish she will do her very best to provide it for you. As with everything else here, all you have to do is ask. Nothing is too much trouble. We look forward to our trip to this hotel every year. We even booked our 2023 stay and outward flights before we left to come home . We genuinely love this place and would be very sad if we could not keep visiting our favourite Greek family who look after us so well. See you all in September! xx

Family holiday

We stopped here in September as a family for 5 and other family members, We stopped in villa 4. Firstly we was pleasantly surprised after reading negative reviews we was quite nervous about coming. We arrived late at night and was given water and sandwiches which was great. Our villa was clean and spacious a bit dated but I’d didn’t bother us as we was never in it. The cleaners came everyday and left clean towels and bedding also made the beds the only issue we had was there was ants coming through the kitchen sink. Food was the usual all inclusive I myself got a bit fed up with it the last couple of days so didn’t eat breakfast and we ate out the last 2-3 nights. The pool areas were clean and cleaners were always there mopping up spilled drinks etc at the end of every day. The only issue we had is getting to the bottom pools it’s hard work getting up and down the stairs with a pram and the snacks in the snack bar let it down for us. It seemed that they was wraps and sandwiches which where made from leftovers from lunch. All staff were very friendly and the lifeguard when my son hurt his leg falling in the pool. George from entertainment was brill all our family loved him and the kids loved waterpolo and ping pong. Overall we had a great holiday.
