      Banjul Beach

As the capital of The Gambia, Banjul Beach enjoys the same sub-tropical climate with constant sunshine and strong heat all year-round. The temperature rarely falls below the twenties and the hottest months of the year are between June and September. The summer is the best time to go to Banjul Beach for heat and sunshine with temperatures ranging from 29°C to 31°C. It can get very hot at midday, so make sure to wear a high factor sun cream and stay out of the sun during peak times of the day. If you need to cool down, head to the coastline for an enjoyable swim in the sea. For cooler weather, the best time to visit Banjul Beach is in winter. December and January are the coldest time of the year and both enjoy low humidity levels. Temperatures still reach the low thirties and there’s not much rainfall. The chance of a sand storm is more common in late winter and the springtime. Strong winds coming over the Sahara to the north-east are the main culprit, but this type of storm is quite rare and won’t get in the way of your holiday.
