Kotu Beach

Koto Beach is located on the Atlantic Ocean coast of The Gambia. The country is known for its fantastic yearly climate with constant sun and heat lasting throughout the year.

The best time to go to Kotu Beach is in the winter. Escape the cold weather back home for sand, sun and sea. The average daily temperature is 28°C and this often increases to the thirties during the summer.

November marks the start of dry season and you’ll get to enjoy a very hot and dry climate until June. There are a few light showers scattered throughout the season, but there are more dry spells than rainfall.

March is the warmest time of the year, with highs reaching 40°C. In this extreme heat, it’s advised to seek shade from the sun from 12pm to 3pm. Make sure to wear high-factor sun protection and a hat to protect yourself from the sun.

The wet season arrives in June and this is when rainfall really starts to take off. It rains a lot, and showers are often similar to a tropical downpour. In August, 225mm of rain spreads over the month, so make sure to pack a waterproof coat and umbrella to avoid getting soaked.
