Weather in Cape Verde
Cape Verde is a volcanic archipelago made up of ten islands just off the north-west coast of Africa. Its location in this part of the Atlantic Ocean gives the region beautiful warm weather all year round.
There’s rarely a day when the sun isn’t shining in Cape Verde. The average temperature ranges from 24°C to 30°C with slightly less sunshine in the summer because it falls within wet season.
The best time to visit Cape Verde is dependent on whether you want to avoid the rain or not. You can expect over 180mm spread over the months of August to October. Autumn and spring are dry with very little rainfall, making them the best time to go to Cape Verde for sunny and dry weather.
The islands of Cape Verde have been dubbed “the African Caribbean” because of their golden beaches and tropical climate. If you want slightly cooler temperatures, arrive in December or January for the coolest weather of the year.
If you want to bask in the sun and go for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean, you won’t be disappointed. The surrounding waters tend to be very mild throughout the year with annual highs of 27°C in the summer and mild lows of 23°C in winter.
