Getting around

By Bus: Like other resorts in Gran Canaria, San Agustín is well served by bus routes, with regular services to Las Palmas, Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés. That means hiring a car is not essential if you want to make the most of the island's leisure and culture attractions, and it’s a great way to meet the locals, too!

By Taxi: A taxi can be useful when you're carrying heavy luggage or shopping. Taxis serve all areas of Gran Canaria, although just make sure you agree the fare before you set off.

By car: Hire a car if you'd like a bit more flexibility and the freedom to explore Gran Canaria at your own pace. You'll find plenty of rental firms at Gran Canaria International Airport.

Events

One of the biggest events of the year in Gran Canaria is the carnival in late February or early March, when there are huge processions and other festivities all over the island.
