For some of the best shopping and entertainment in Gran Canaria, don't miss out on a visit to Yumbo Centrum. With more than 200 shops, bars and stands, it's a vibrant place to spend a few hours after a morning in the hot Spanish sun. Stepping inside the shopping centre, you'll browse jewellery, clothes and electrical items in the shops and bazaars that stretch across four floors.

When you get tired of shopping, go and play on the games machines, bag yourself a pool table or embrace your wild side with a ride on the Skyrider catapult. Yumbo Centrum is built around a tropical park, so don't miss out on a relaxing walk through the palm trees and cacti before hitting the shops again. When you get hungry, you'll be spoiled for choice at Yumbo. From traditional Spanish cuisine to Italian, Indian and Chinese food, you're sure to find a restaurant or café you'll like, whether you want to try something new or stick with your tried and tested favourites.

If you're staying in self-catered accommodation there's also a number of supermarkets in the centre, so you can pick up your bread and milk.

In the evening, Yumbo Centrum comes to life. Pay a visit to one of the many bars for a refreshing beer or freshly-shaken cocktail as you sit on a terrace and enjoy the last of the sunshine. See a show or enjoy a quiet drink before visiting one of the centre's many LGBT nightclubs. If you're in Gran Canaria during the springtime, you may be lucky enough to see the Carnival of Maspalomas, which is hosted at the shopping centre.
