A beautiful hotel and excellent location.
Rooms were very big with balconies, in a city centre next to bars and restaurants. Excellent breakfast and receptionists very helpful , hotel needs some attention with a lift and the smell in corridors. The girls serving breakfast were very friendly and offering excellent service.
Good hotel -Central location
We were greeted by Lilia, the receptionist, who was very helpful and knowledgeable and always on hand to answer any questions. We were lucky enough to get upgraded so had a lovely suite with a very comfortable large bed, a lovely big shower, which was very powerful and had hot water in abundance. We also had a bottle of wine and two bottles of water. which were greatly appreciated. Our room was on the alley side but we didn't hear any street noise but that may be because it's out of season. The breakfast was plentiful and with different choices each morning. The hotel was very clean and is in the perfect location, central to everything. The Compass bar which is a couple of doors down from the hotel is a good place to pop in for a drink after a day out before returning to the hotel. The Captain's table is good to have traditional Greek food at a reasonable price and the Vice_Cafe_Bar is a brilliant place to go for a nice, relaxed drink in the evening. I would also recommend having a massage with Magdalene at the Spa, who gave one of the best massages l have had. I only have a couple of negatives, the 1st being that there was no soap to wash hands with, we had to keep getting the body wash from the shower. I'm sure they would have given us another bottle if we asked but we only remembered when we went to use it! The 2nd thing is there is construction going on opposite the hotel. If you are a light sleeper l would ask for a room at the back because the builders start early!
Our second visit
Just home from Alley hotel . Firstly let me tell you this is a great hotel but not Boutique as maybe advertised . They are trying hard though to get there . Stayed in May for first time , beautiful room two balconies masive bed complementary bottle of wine with view of Alley and partial view of harbour. Called a corner suite. When we arrived in September I was pretty disappointed as our room was on other side of hotel with hotels noisy fans etc below us . No view but can except that as in the city , room very dark with very small balcony ( hubby joked that only one could go out at a time) . Nowhere to hang wet swimwear so asked for dryer which I received but then balcony even smaller . No house wine think that’s only for better rooms , did feel alittle like second class visitors, kettle was leaking water from its base which was changed . Bath rooms need upgrading half size bath with shower over which if not careful sprayed over onto floor . Bathrooms in some rooms a big failing in this hotel . Must say staff are brilliant very helpful and friendly . Hotel is spotlessly clean . Dinning area beautiful furnishings and great choice of breakfast , everything you could want , ok not your normal English breakfast but hay your in Greece and there is eggs sausage bacon . The hotel is in a great proximity to harbour with many bars, and eateries with fishing boats coming in with there catch and turtles swimming around for scraps. I would stay in the Alley Hotel again but will make sure I book the right room . There were only a couple of rooms to choose from at the time . Will not be in room 103 again .
