A truly wonderful place!

Spent a wonderful week here recently and cannot fault it one bit. Arrived later on in the night and they had drinks and food ready. Upgraded to a superior room (they were newly built) and immaculate, modern with all the amenities (including a fridge, air con, tv, good shower, free safe) it was so lovely! Balcony which we could see the sea from and so peaceful. The staff were just incredible, all so attentive, pleasant and couldn’t do enough for you (the cocktails were also fab). Really clean, food was wonderful with a great selection for (we were half board so breakfast and dinner, both lovely). Anna (the manager) helped assisting us with booking some amazing day trips, nothing was too much trouble. Bus stop (which is so easy to catch and plan your route) is a 5 min walk one way, and then beach is a 5 min walk the other way. Plenty to do in walking distance with it still feeling very peaceful at the hotel. So glad we chose here after our last holiday being 2018, really is a home away from home. Will 100% be coming back and would definitely recommend if you want a lovely trip to Crete!

Not worth that money!

The hotel is average 3 stars, isn't 4 stars worth. The territory is beautiful, there is enough space for everyone and by the pool. Breakfast is monotonous, dishes are often oversalted. Dinner is very poor, the choice is small. Plates were dirty. This is not 4 stars. They didn’t even pay attention that the guest had a birthday while staying at the hotel. Not worth the money! I put negative score to take average score down. Hara Ilios isn't so good as it is written.

A good and bad experience

We arrived at the hotel on Friday 8th July and were allocated a brand new apartment, Initially beautiful but the toilet and seperate shower room had a frosted glass door and you could see our shadows whilst in the toilet you could hear each other doing our business which is not very nice so when we used the toilet one would sit on the balcony out of coutesy. Unfortunately I contracted COVID on the Sunday afer we arrived which wasnt an ideal start to our stay The staff were very sympathetic and our beakfast was brought up to our room by the very friendly staff, Obviously I couldnt use the pool or come into contact with other guests, No complaints there but I went to use the TV to pass the time away but I had trouble working it so I asked reception to help with the TV only to be told that being as it was a brand new apartment and we were the first to occupy it the TVs were not connected up to the antenna or satellite which I thought was terrible seeing as I was restricted to where I could go, So, Hotel excellent location (only 15 minutes from the airport), Excellent staff especially Billy and Dylan at the bar, very friendly and an excellent attitude. Breakfast was OK , had a good choice of food. I never used the restaurant for an evening meal as the price was 12.50 per head but although the choice was very good, My lady and I could not eat 12,50s worth of food so I thought 25 euros was a bit over the top but good for people with a large appetite. On the whole its a 3 out of 5 for us
