Wonderful holiday. Can't wait to return.
Our first trip abroad since before Covid. We chose a junior suite and it was on the 1st floor overlooking the pool. (Room 424). Everywhere was kept spotlessly clean and all the staff were very friendly. The food was AMAZING. I am a pescaterian and often struggle to find anything on menus, I can eat. Not so, here. I had so much choice, with different fish options every evening, I was in heaven! Not eating meat, there were plenty of options for breakfast too. Love, love loved the plentiful scrambled eggs and tomatoes. The "no towels on sunbeds to reserve them" rule was not strictly enforced, but in October, sunbeds were plentiful so this wasn't a problem. The "no inflateables nor pool toys" not being enforced was more of a problem, with one family in particular, treating the main pool like it was their own, personal playground, throwing balls from one end to the other, divebombing and generally being selfish. The pool bar was good for lunch, not overpriced we felt, though one member of the staff there clearly had had enough, it being end of season and just wanted to be elsewhere. The other chap, was lovely, as were all the other staff members we encountered. The onsite shop is very well eqipped and the prices aren't rip off. If you go out through the back gate and turn right, there is a very handy shop near the beach. There is also a small restaurant there. The gardens are beautifully kept. There are other pastimes available, besides the aquarobics in the pool. Table tennis, yoga , tennis, etc though we didn't try these. The hotel was very quiet in the evenings, which suited us perfectly. If you aren't happy with your own company, creating you own amusements, this is probably not the place for you. Can't wait to return.
Beautiful holiday
Just back from a week in this lovely hotel. It is spotlessly clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was near reception overlooking the pool and perfect. Great air con and very comfy bed and great black out curtains. Weather was fantastic. We were half board. The breakfast had everything needed, favourite being bacon and freshly made pancakes. Evening meal was not great. Meats were poor quality but fish was good. We ate out at the marina 3 nights for a change. Entertainment was ok. Singers most nights , good and lively 2 of the nights. We were a 10 minute walk on the main road (which is quickest) to the lovely marina and then on to the lighthouse. Very quiet area but relaxing. The beach is a 5 minute walk from the back gate with a supermarket and restaurant at it too. Sunbed and parasol €25...ridiculous. There were lots of flies and wasps about sverywhere and my husband was covered in mosquito bites Also it took us 2 hours from airport which was exhausting at 12mn. Apart from that it was highly recommended
Lovely hotel
We stayed in a 1 bed apartment, room 414, facing the pool. One of the nicest hotels and holidays we've had in a very long time. If you don't leave Menorca feeling wowed, you've done something wrong. Check in was smooth. Sylvia on reception was very helpful and welcoming with advice and maps etc. There's an island wise tourist tax to be paid on arrival 46 Euros for a couple for a week. Our room 414 was a 1 bed apartment, very nice on the second floor facing the pool. There is a lift if you have problems with stairs. The path to the room isn't a solid path but rectangular paving stones so dragging a suitcase isn't the greatest and I can imagine with a pushchair or wheelchair would get annoying quickly. Plenty of space in the apartment, lots of storage, plenty of plug sockets. Suitcases fitted easily under the beds, nice little kitchen area with fridge, small hob, kettle and also a good sized balcony. Couple of negatives for me about the room. Charging 2 euros a day for a safe, just include it was standard in your room rate. Also duvets with no covers, just a bit grim and unhygienic. One of the duvets in our room was stained so we couldn't use it. Under the bed clearly hadn't been cleaned for some time and was really dusty as we realised at the end when we fished our suitcases out from underneath. The restaurant is good. Plenty of choice both for breakfast and dinner catering for lots of different nationalities. We had wine/beer/sparkling water with every evening meal and our bar bill was less than 60 Euros for the whole week!! The only slightly annoying thing about the restaurant was queues for extremely slow coffee machines in the morning. Most holiday hotels I've ever stayed in just have staff circulating with coffee, tea and milk. Lots of choice egg wise in the morning, fried/boiled/scrambled but they couldn't keep up with the fried eggs. Breakfast 8-10.30 and dinner 7-10. We didn't use the hotel bar in the evening but there was entertainment each night - dire strait tribute bands aren't really our thing. Decent sized pool but not heated. It was okay for me but my husband said it was far too cold. Beach towels available from the life guard. Could be changed at reception for a euro each. Small shop on site, not ridiculous prices. Never used the gym. Parked out hire car in the hotel car park. The hotel is in a good location. Close to a small beach and a 10-15 min walk to calan bosch beach and the harbour. A number of small supermarkets and restaurants close to the hotel. The bus stop to cuitadella is outside the hotel. Ultimately we had a lovely relaxing holiday and enjoyed our stay in the hotel, wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
