Sol Cala Antena is a family-friendly hotel in the town of Calas de Majorca on the eastern coast of Majorca. Set near cliffs, it overlooks the Balearic Sea and is a short stroll from Cala Antena beach. This sandy beach is tucked away in a cove where you can sunbathe or swim in the sea. The hotel offers a range of sporting activities for you to try, including aerobics, football, and fitness classes. There's also a dartboard, table tennis and pool tables to play on, as well as a dedicated games room with arcade machines and air hockey. If you prefer to relax, you can take a swim in the pool, or lie on the sun terrace beside it. There is also a separate pool for kids to splash around in. Sol Cala Antena has a specialist team that runs family-friendly entertainment during the day and in the evening. There is a mini-club that kids can go to, and a kids' disco. If you want to see some of the natural beauty of the surrounding area, there are cliffside walks leading south to more beaches, or into the centre of Calas de Majorca where there is a selection of bars and restaurants to try.

Sol Cala Antena is 300m from Cala Antena beach and 600m from the centre of Calas de Majorca. There are two similar sized beaches a short walk south from the hotel, Cala Domingos beach and Cala Murada beach. Cala Varques beach is a short drive north along the coast, another cove surrounded by green pine trees. If you want to get away from the beach, you can take a short drive to Santuari de Sant Salvador. This well-preserved medieval monastery sits on top of a hill, offering views of the surrounding countryside. Inside you can learn about the area's history and admire a collection of artwork and ancient artefacts.

Sol Cala Antena has an international buffet restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. There's also a kids buffet and show cooking theme nights. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating so you can choose where to enjoy your meal. The hotel also has a bar where you can grab a refreshing drink.

Sol Cala Antena has kids' clubs for all ages. Younger children can enjoy painting, and handicrafts, while older kids have game tournaments, drawing competitions and themed days.

The rooms at Sol Cala Antena are light and airy, with individual air conditioning, satellite TV and a balcony or terrace to relax on.

Very good hotel

We had a very good stay. The staff are pleasant, the rooms are well maintained and the buffets are also very good. We really liked the location and the view. Small black spot, the noise at the edge of the swimming pool but the beach is quieter!

Sol Cala Antena is a little gem

Like many others I had read the reviews of the Sol Cala Antena, and was a little concerned, however, this is a great hotel, all the staff make you feel very welcome and they work so hard. Our room was Sol room/garden room basic but vey clean, you had a lounge area bathroom and a bedroom with a big balcony what more do you need, I did not turn on the TV so can not comment on this, The food was good and plentiful, the normal breakfast eggs freshly cooked three ways, cold meats and cheeses, pastries, fruit etc. I did hear people complain about waiting for the eggs to be cooked, what do they do at home! dinner again had a good variety, there is a snake bar that serves food from 10:30 - 17:30ish then again at 22:30 to the bar closes, unsure what people are expecting regarding food, if we have paid for silver service I could understand but we haven't . The bar staff work very hard yes it is busy, but you would have to queue up at a pub. The animation team also work very hard from spinning class and water spin to there night entertainment. We will be returning next September 2020

Get what you pay for!

Cheap and cheerful holiday! You have to take it for what it is, you won't be getting incredible service or rooms but it's nice for the price. Entertainment is pretty good, the day time is better than the evening but it was generally a laugh and enjoyable. The food was a miss for us, not labelled, not much option for fussier eaters and there were two occasions that the food was under cooked. The snack bar is great, especially in the evenings - the chicken wings are so good! We were a bit worried about sunbeds around the pool but had no issues - it does get busy but not excessively. If you want a sunbed right by the pool side I'd suggest getting up slightly earlier to avoid disappointment. The location of the hotel is good. The rooms are basic and need updating but you only sleep there so that didn't bother us. We did have to queue for drinks but it went down fairly quickly and wasn't too much of an inconvenience. Overall, we thought this hotel was nice; we took it for face value and had a lovely time! Met some wonderful people and had a laugh. I would recommend if you're looking for a last minute getaway on a tighter budget. 7 days was plenty of time here, any more would be too long in my opinion. I doubt we would return to this hotel but for the price you pay there really isn't much to complain about. Don’t go with too much expectation and you’ll have a great time!
