Never returning!!

Dec 2021 | Charlotte K
The way this hotel is run is not with the guests in mind. The staff are rude and unfriendly not welcoming at all. I would never return to this hotel! I’ve listed everything wrong with this hotel below: 10euros a towel - cash only. Had to go out to get cash after a day travelling. Towels are small; and only swap them out every 3 days. Air con major issues only got resolved on day 3. Fridge in the room full of mould (not technically a fridge). Rude staff, not welcoming. Aggressive nature. Not all inclusive - most drinks weren’t included this really let’s the hotel down. Life guard rolling her eyes and judgemental at guests. Water on tap is not pleasant - alternative is to pay 2.20 for a small bottle of water. Pool bar food is basic and the same every day. No menus so when we arrived we asked the bar staff what was included and they just shrug. Really unhelpful! Just had to ask other guests! Also disappointing that the bar didn’t offer ice creams etc. Bar closes at 11.30 every night, don’t offer table service, rude staff, don’t say last order etc. Literally 11.30 and the shutters come down! Pool doesn’t open until 11am and closes early. Pool full of green scum that stained our swimwear - only got cleaned after a few days of badgering the hotel. Gross! Ridiculous 40 minute not return on sun beds before towels got confiscated. The most frustrating part of the whole holiday! You couldn’t even go to lunch without a risk of losing your subbed. We booked a massage (they have a therapist come onto site) - not worth doing at all!!! Not skilled and she was full of cold sneezing and caughing all over me. During covid and the worry of catching it and not being able to travel back to the UK this caused huge anxiety so I had to leave 10 minutes into it. The only positive are: the location - right on the beach which was beautiful. Negative you have to pay for sunbeds! Restaurant manager is lovely and restaurant staff were all great! Food was really good too. Our maid was fantastic. Room cleaned every day.

Quality hotel on the beach

The hotel is situated right on a small cove on Cala Egos, close to Cala D'or. From checking in at reception, we were given a warm welcome throughout our stay. The rooms were well appointed, ours had a balcony view of the small beach. The extra bonus was having robes and slippers. The buffet restaurant offered a great selection of dishes with everything fresh and superbly presented. All staff were friendly and efficient without being overbearing and nothing was too much trouble. This is a great area for walking, especially when taking the locals bus to the Mondrago nature reserve (€3 each way). Some local shops and restaurants were closed, presumably due to the pandemic, but there was plenty on offer at Cala D'or a 20-30 minute walk away. Being adults only, the hotel offered a peaceful environment for a couples holiday. The evening entertainment was varied with something for everyone's taste. The Queen tribute was one of the best I have seen. We hope to return at some time in the future.

Superb holiday location and hotel

We returned from this hotel on the 16th October having had a wonderful time. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean and we had a lovely room on the 2nd floor overlooking the bay. The area is perfect for exploring Cala d’or and I would thoroughly recommend the dolphin watching trip which goes from the bay a mere 200 yards from the hotel Worth every penny the food was so varied and delicious. House wine was very acceptable Thank you to everyone at this hotel who made us so welcome
