If you're looking for an active day trip, you can go hiking in one of the nature reserves within driving distance of the hotel. If you want to take a day trip, you can visit the sand dunes of Punta Sabinal.

You can eat lunch and dinner at the hotel's buffet restaurant, or opt to eat out at one of the restaurants in the centre of Aguadulce. There are international restaurants that serve cuisines such as Indian and Italian, and traditional Spanish restaurants that offer tapas and seafood paella.

You can take a walk to the sandy beach and spend the day relaxing on the shore or swimming in the calm waters.

our week in the sun

May 2022 | CivilianE

Just returned from a week away at the Playadulce Hotel with my wife and one of our friends. Hotel is on the beachfront about 1500 metres from the harbour where there's a selection of restaurants, cafes and bars that are worth the walk and numerous others along the way. We booked a 2nd floor superior double room with a sea view - right on the front of the hotel where there's a key controlled gateway giving access to the seafront. We paid considerably more than double the amount our friend paid for their single room with a side sea view but the view, position and balcony size made up for it. Our friend speaks a little Spanish which was helpful as the resort is mainly geared to it's Spanish residents and doesn't have that many fluent in English working in the shops & cafes etc - we have no complaints about this aspect of the resort as that's why we went there, to avoid the British bars that dominate a lot of resorts nowadays. Pros - beachfront location roughly halfway along the promenade quiet location, the road out front has parking and few speeders rain head shower in our room was the best we've experienced Cons - not a huge selection of hot foods for lunch or dinner warm breakfast items never varied all week - we were told that the food is restricted in low season Friday night entertainment is dominated by incoming locals who like to dance, most hotel guests had an early night as the bar area was full from the overflow of dancing couples/groups. main complaint of mine was the toilet in our room as it literally is in the bedroom - frosted glass screens (with clear horizontal stripes you can see through) don't go to the ceiling so every noise & smell are not contained as they would be in a traditional bathroom - one other guest we spoke to had been tempted to try to fill in the gaps with paper and sticky tape! Overall we had a great week but that toilet will stick in my mind for a long time!

Perfect break in the sun!

Just returned from a lovely week at this hotel with my friends. Booked a single room and was allocated a large double with a beautiful side sea view with afternoon and evening sun; perfect for me. My room was an un refurbished one, but no complaints at all for the money I paid. Spacious, great shower, good sized balcony and spotlessly clean. This is a typically Spanish hotel in a Spanish resort. I loved it, and one of the main reasons I booked it as I'm not one for British pubs and John Smiths on draft! I loved practicing my very poor Spanish (not many locals speak much English) and there was some hilarity deciphering the menus in the local bars and restaurants lol. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. Hotel position right on the sea front promenade was lovely, a 25 minute stroll down to the harbour with lovely and friendly chiringitos dotted along to stop off for a cooling drink and to enjoy the beautiful sea views. Hotel food could've been better, and breakfast was a little disappointing with no fresh egg and omelette station. Dinner was a better choice and I always enjoyed my meals. We ate out a couple of evenings; once in the local chiringito and the garlic prawns were probably the best I've ever tasted. Another night in the Argentinian restaurant 10 minutes stroll down the promenade. Suckling pig and a plate of roasted veg and fruits was just gorgeous. We had a lovely time, I didn't want to come home and would definitely return.

Beautiful Spain

I've been to aguadulce many times as I have family in the area. We have stayed at playadulce a few times over the years and I always enjoy it. The hotel is lovely, a great price, nice pool, beautiful terrace, great views and basic but good rooms. Beach front location with lots of beach bars, restaurants and a nice harbour. Now let me just explain a few things! This is a very Spanish area, people do not really speak English and English people do not usually come to aguadulce! That is how I like it. This time, I noticed a lot more English in the hotel and on observation they seemed to expect English speaking staff, English food and English service. If this is what you are looking for then this area is not for you. If you want to immerse yourself in Spanish culture, speak some basic Spanish, enjoy the many tapas bars and local life, then this holiday is for you. Tips: We always go to the beach, grab a sunbed at casa nostra (5euro each) and you can use their WiFi and have a nice sangria at your bed. Go and enjoy tapas at places like La Santa next to the hotel (on the side of the large pink building) Go out of the hotel towards the sea, turn right and walk 5mins to Diegos beach bar, they do lovely garlic chili prawns for lunch and they also open in the evenings for drinks which is beautiful as they light the candles on the beach. Just ask for a menu. Be aware of shops shutting between 1pm-5pm for siesta. As a result of this, its worth getting some bits at a supermarket and then storing them in your room fridge to take to the beach and enjoy throughout your hols. We've been to almeria and mini Holywood previously and both are worth a visit. Also small Spanish towns in the mountains are worth a visit if you have a car. You can also do a long beach front walk to roquetas. In summary, this is a lovely area and great hotel.
