Costa Adeje Nightlife: Bars & Clubs

Costa Adeje is Tenerife's newest resort and one of the most upmarket. With five-star hotels, golf courses, beautiful beaches, and outstanding shopping, it offers visitors a taste of the high life but without breaking the bank. It's also got plenty to keep you entertained when the sun goes down, and Costa Adeje nightlife ranges from laid-back local bars to pumping clubs where the drinks and the dancing go on all night!

While it might be the new kid on the block, the nightlife here has quickly established itself as the classiest and the most glamorous spot on the island. In place of the usual touristy bars that you'll find in the nearby Playa de las Americas, Cost Adeje nightlife consists of atmospheric cocktail bars, dress-to-impress nightclubs, and impressively-kitsch karaoke bars.

However, just because the resort likes to glam things up a bit, don't assume that the Costa Adeje nightlife is beyond your budget: head to the right spots and you'll find that there's something for everyone.

Before the Evening Kicks Off

If you're out for a meal before hitting the local bars, you'll find a wide variety of restaurants catering to all tastes. Along the Centro Commercial, you'll find an array of eateries serving everything from burgers and pizzas, to fish and chips. This is your best bet if you're looking for friendly, familiar food at friendly and familiar prices.

However, if you want to sample something a bit special and test out your taste-buds, the tiny fishing village of La Caleta is about 15-minutes away on foot. Here, you'll find traditional tavernas and atmospheric restaurants, serving what is widely thought to be the best seafood in Tenerife. If the idea of a 15-minute stroll doesn't fit in with your plans, head to Costa Adeje's seafront instead, where you'll find some excellent fine-dining restaurants serving delicious meals, and with superb views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Costa Adeje Clubs

When it comes to clubs, the Costa Adeje nightlife is bound to get you up and dancing all night long. There are venues playing music to suit virtually every taste, from dance and techno, to reggae and rock. For a night out that'll have you feeling like an A-list celebrity, head on down to the Faro Chill Art Bar. This is the place to go if you want to be seen on the scene. Locals and visitors alike dress to the nines and sip on exotic cocktails, while watching dedicated clubbers getting on down to the latest in dance music. There are themed nights, ranging from nights dedicated to African music to Russian nights; get out your glitziest glad-rags and hang out with the Canarian jet-set.

Beach Bars and Clubs

There are plenty of beach bars and seaside clubs where you can get your groove on. The In & Out Bar is one of the most popular, with live music nights featuring outstanding tribute bands. Sit outside and soak up the sounds from a table, or strut your stuff on the dancefloor. You might find that the drinks are a little pricier than some of the smaller venues, but you're paying a bit more for an excellent location and dynamic atmosphere.

Beach clubs have become another important fixture in the nightlife here. Those who want all the volume and vibrancy of a club, but with power-soft sand underfoot and the stars up above tend to head to places like the Monkey Beach Club, Kaluna Beach Club and the Papagayo Beach Club. These events are more like mini-festivals than anything else, offering top-notch DJs, dazzling light shows and the chance to bop until breakfast. While Costa Adeje prides itself on its stylish attitude, beach parties are where to go if you want to wear something more casual than your best dress or tux!

A Quiet Coffee

Costa Adeje nightlife doesn't have to be all about banging tunes and sharp clothes. If clubs and bars aren't your scene, or you want a night off from partying, you'll find that many of the local cafés stay open until the small hours. The locals arrive around midnight and chat for an hour or two over a round of coffees, making these wonderful spots an ideal place to sit and people-watch.

Alternatively, hit one of the quieter, beachfront cocktail bars as the sun begins to set. Mixologists in Costa Adeje take their craft very seriously and rarely bother with measures. Instead, they seem to know when the quantities are right and top everything off with a sprinkling of fresh herbs or some slices of fresh fruit. Sip them slowly, rather than throw them back: Costa Adeje cocktails are sneakily potent!

While it might be the youngest resort on the island, Costa Adeje has learnt quickly from its more-commercial cousins and hit on a winning formula. Although the spotlight might favour chic over cheap, there's enough on offer to suit most budgets, whether you want a quick pint and some pub grub, or some fine fizz and an exclusive evening out.
