Alvor – Weather
Located in the Algarve region in southern Portugal, Alvor enjoys the same typical Mediterranean climate as the rest of the country. The warmest weather arrives between May and October, giving you an average of 12 hours of sunshine a day. Temperatures in Alvor peak at 30°C in July and August and rarely drop below 20°C in the evening. The sea is around 22°C with cool breezes coming in from the Atlantic. Humidity levels are around 60%.
The annual rainfall is around 500mm, with most of the rain spreading over autumn and winter. Weather in Alvor in November is very wet, with a monthly average rainfall of 85mm and just eight hours of sunshine a day. Daily highs reach up to 23°C in autumn that lowers to 12°C in the height of winter.
The average temperature in spring is around 17°C with highs of 20°C in April. Night-time can be a little chilly towards the start of the season, with lows of 10°C in March. Mild winds help to keep the weather warm and enjoyable throughout spring, which is great if you’ve got a lot of outdoor sightseeing and exploring planned. April is a quiet time to visit Alvor, with warm weather and a pleasing nine hours of sunshine a day.
