Things to do
If you’re looking for thrilling things to do, then a ride on the High Roller Las Vegas is an absolute must. From the top of this giant Ferris wheel (measuring approximately 170m high), you’ll enjoy incredible views of the entire city; so do not, whatever you do, leave your camera at the bottom. While you’re up there, don’t forget to count how many famous landmarks you can spot.
The Stratosphere Tower is one of the best Las Vegas attractions for experiencing panoramic views of the city. Located at the northern end of The Strip, it’s the tallest freestanding observation tower in the whole of the United States. The view from the top is jaw-dropping, so be sure to take a camera with you to capture the memories of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Plus, if you fancy indulging in a spot of retail therapy, you can pop into the shops as you climb to the top.
With its vibrant atmosphere and bright lights galore, the Freemont Street Experience is one of the finest attractions in Las Vegas. It’s a covered mall stretching over five blocks, brimming with shops, bars and restaurants. If the bright lights and sound of a roulette table become irresistible you can enjoy a quick flutter in the casinos or take in a performance from one of the many street artists. All in all, it’s an absolute must-see.
If you’d prefer to discover the natural beauty on offer in this part of Nevada, Mount Charleston is one of the top things to see in Las Vegas. It’s right on the city’s doorstep, perfect for taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Although it’s just a 45-minute drive away, it feels worlds apart from the noise and bright lights of Downtown Las Vegas.
Similarly, the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area provides an abundance of gorgeous scenery. Located just 20 minutes outside of Las Vegas, it’s ideal for hiking, mountain biking, or a quick rock-climbing session. This site is home to some of the most spectacular scenery you’ll ever set eyes on, which is why it’s one of the many gems listed on your Las Vegas sightseeing itinerary.
