Stratosphere Tower USA

For the best panoramic views across Sin City, take a trip to the Stratosphere Tower, Vegas. It's the tallest freestanding observation tower in the States, so unsurprisingly, the view from the top is enough to leave you speechless (or just whimpering and clinging to the handrail, depending on how well you handle heights”).

Positioned towards the north end of the Strip, the Stratosphere Tower stands 350m tall. It has a hotel, casino and an observation deck, making it one of Las Vegas' most popular attractions. After taking the lift to the observation platform, allow yourself a moment to relish the sensational views.

It doesn't matter whether you stick to the indoor deck or venture upstairs to the open-air section, you're bound to be impressed by the beauty of Vegas' skyline. Try to spot your hotel or your favourite landmark as you gaze at the city. You'll be amazed at how many things you'll recognise from above.

Thrilling rides

If you're an adrenaline junkie, then you're in luck. There are four unbelievable rides at the top of the Stratosphere Tower. Vegas has its fair share of thrills, but these are right up there (quite literally) as some of the best. You'll have to be brave to ride any of them; Big Shot, Insanity, X Scream and SkyJump Las Vegas are all incredibly scary.

Big Shot is one of the highest thrill rides in the whole world, so if you're afraid of heights, this probably won't be your thing. Insanity is equally as terrifying; it dangles its riders over the edge of the tower leaving them to stare down at the floor below. If that doesn't stick the hairs on the back of your neck on end, nothing will!

Or perhaps you fancy leaping from 829-feet high? Then SkyJump is the experience for you. It boasts the Guinness World Record for being the highest commercial decelerator descent facility, so you know you'll enjoy the ride of your life.

Whether you want to jump during the day, at night, or sunset, is down to you. Either way, you won't forget this white-knuckle experience in a hurry.

Shopping

If you fancy a quick shopping spree at the tower, there's a mall on the second level. From quirky gift shops to gorgeous perfume stores, you're bound to find something that suits your tastes. There's an abundance of cafés and eateries here so that you can enjoy a quick bite of lunch before you hunt down some more bargains.

However, if you want to eat in style, book a table at 'Top of the World' restaurant. This has a revolving floor that turns once every 80 minutes so you can see the views from every angle. Situated more than 800 feet above Sin City, this award-winning restaurant offers a menu full of culinary delights for you to enjoy. If you want to savour a romantic meal with your partner, then there's no better place to go.

Take a spa day

After a few hectic days filled with sightseeing, all you'll want to do is relax and unwind, so why not do it in style with a spa day? Situated in the Tower Shops, Roni Josef provides the perfect environment for you to chill out. Roni Josef is a world-famous hair artist, and his salons have a menu full of relaxing treatments for you to indulge in. From facials to massages, to hand, nail and foot care, they offer it all.

Practical info

The Stratosphere Vegas Tower is open from 10am until 2am during the weekend. So, if you fancy a quick tipple in the Level 107 Lounge, you're more than welcome to stick around. Nothing says Vegas like a cocktail. There's a fee to go up the tower, however, if you're staying in the hotel, it's completely free of charge.

Other things to do nearby

After a fun-filled morning at the Stratosphere Tower, Vegas still has plenty more to offer. Spend the rest of your day exploring Mount Charleston and the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Here you can enjoy a 13-mile scenic drive through the highs and lows of this stunning canyon. There are loads of designated places where you can get out and take in the view, so be sure to have your camera and probably an extra SD card or two to keep all those pictures safe.

Alternatively, a lot of people stay in the Stratosphere Tower and wait for the epic sunset. Trust us; you won't have seen anything as beautiful as this before.
