Larvotto Beach in Monte Carlo

A holiday to Monaco wouldn’t be complete without a day trip to the Monte Carlo’s most famous beach, Larvotto. As you put on your designer sunglasses, walk across the pebbly shores and dip your toes into the Mediterranean waters, you’ll rediscover the true magic of the French Riviera. Whether you’re relaxing with a book or splashing with the kids in the sea, there’s no beach quite like Larvotto.

With huge luxury apartments beyond the promenade, the city beach is beautifully clean and well kept, so you’ll have the company of locals as well as fellow tourists. Sip a glass of cool champagne at the beachside bar La Note Bleue as you relax on your luxury lounger while looking out across the clear blue waters. Or tuck into a wood-fired pizza at Miami Plage, with beautiful views of the beach.

For traditional food, La Rose des Vents serves up fresh seafood dishes, while there are cheaper eats, including sweet and savoury crepes, salads and sandwiches, near the harbour.

If you’re feeling energetic, rent a sea kayak or jet ski from the water sports centre, or have a go at wakeboarding, parasailing or tubing.

If you’ve got younger kids, they can have a go at beach volleyball or use up their energy on the beachside trampoline. After your relaxing day at Larvotto Beach, take a gentle evening walk to the old town to see the pastel coloured houses as you explore the narrow lanes.

It’s a bit of a climb up the hill, but well worth it as you’re treated to a beautiful view of the sunset over the water. Whatever you do, remember to take your camera!
