Thomas Cook Airlines Announces New Long Haul Routes from Manchester Airport
The only way to fly to St Lucia and Antigua outside London
• New flights to St Lucia, Antigua and Barbados from November and December 2013
• Flight-only seats on sale now, prices from £464 return
• Package holidays on sale from £775 per person
Thomas Cook Airlines has today announced a range of new flights to the Caribbean from Manchester Airport, bringing the only routes outside London to St Lucia and Antigua and one of only a handful of airlines flying to Barbados.
Commencing Sunday 10th November 2013, the weekly Manchester-St Lucia-Barbados flight will operate on a specifically configured Airbus A330 aircraft, with the additional Manchester-Antigua-Barbados flight operating from Thursday 19th December. Flights will depart late morning from Manchester, allowing travellers to benefit from a wide range of connections from regional airports across the UK.
Christoph Debus, Thomas Cook Group Head of Air Travel, said “It’s fantastic news that we’re able to offer UK travellers seat-only and holidays from Manchester to some of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean, initially for the coming winter season.
“With the recent reduction in connections from Manchester to Gatwick limiting the travel options for those from the Midlands, the North and Scotland to connect with Caribbean flights from London, we’re pleased to be able to offer more flexibility and choice for our customers, competing with the very best scheduled and charter carriers.”
Ken O’Toole, Chief Commercial Officer for Manchester Airport Group, added, “Expanding the airports long haul network is a strategic priority for Manchester Airport and Thomas Cook's introduction of new flights this winter to St Lucia and Antigua, as well as increasing passenger choice to Barbados, will further boost the airports unrivalled route network of over 200 worldwide destinations.
“Today’s announcement closely follows the launch of the airport's 'Fly Manchester' campaign, to win back the four million passenger journeys that are lost to London airports every year, and firmly reinforces the airports position as the global gateway to and from Northern England."
Flight-only prices start at £464 return per person from www.flythomascook.com and, like all Thomas Cook Airlines flights, seat-only bookings are ATOL protected.
For those looking for package holidays, a range of hotels are now on offer to Barbados, Antigua and St Lucia, bringing the only package holidays to Antigua and St Lucia from Manchester, available at www.thomascook.com, in Thomas Cook and Co-operative Travel stores or by calling 0844 4125970.
