For a truly laid-back and enjoyable wedding, Malta is the place to be. This small yet historical island is nestled in the heart of the Mediterranean and offer all those who visit its soils a relaxing and welcoming experience. Celebrate your special day in style and make the most of the country’s rich cultural heritage whilst you’re there.
Malta weddings are civil ceremonies and the place to get married is the Palazzo Parisio, which is an awesome, ornate 18th century venue. If you get married here, you can stay at any Maltese hotel that you choose. Alternatively, if you’d prefer a hotel wedding, you can tie the knot at the Seabank or Phoenicia Hotel.
Malta tends to be warm and sunny all year round, but can get incredibly hot and humid throughout the months of July and August, so that’s worth taking note if you don’t want to be too hot an uncomfortable in your wedding outfits. The winter months are cooler, but are usually still very pleasant.
It is crucial that Maltese authorities receive your documents at least two months before your wedding as they are very strict on deadlines. There is also a minimum residency requirement of two working days. Couples opting for a hotel wedding must be residents at that particular hotel.
Malta is a true Mediterranean gem and aside from the great culture and architecture, the country’s increasingly popular reputation as a gourmet’s delight will ensure the memories of your big day will last forever. The incredible Palazzo Parisio is our favourite location on the island.
