Shop ’til you drop
Shopping on the Venetian Riviera ranges from high-end luxury boutiques to bustling weekly markets. You’ll find a good mix of designer brands and hand-made crafts in Venice but if you head for some of the islands in the Venice Lagoon, you can pick up some local specialities, like the famous lace in Burano and the one-of-a-kind hand blown glass pieces in Murano.
Via Bafile in Lido di Jesolo is a real paradise for shoppers, it’s the world’s largest pedestrianised shopping street and it stretches for over 13 kilometres. It’s got around 1200 stores selling only the latest in fashion clothes and Italian-made crafts and gifts. If you’re into your designer brands, take a trip to the Veneto Designer Outlet, around 25 kilometres away from Jesolo in Noventa di Piave. You’ll be able to pick up some good deals on many luxury brands including Calvin Klein and Guess.
For a more traditional shopping experience, discover the traditional market in Jesolo’s old town. Every Friday sellers come here to showcase their works of art and antiques and also food and locally-made crafts. This is the best place to pick up an authentic Italian souvenir to take home.
