Caleta de Fuste
One of the youngest resorts in Fuerteventura, the colourful resort of Caleta de Fuste is ideal for family holidays. Known for its magnificent horseshoe beach, clear, shallow waters and jam-packed with attractions including zoos and the island’s best water parks, holidays in Caleta de Fuste are perfect if you’re travelling with kids. You’ll also find some of the best water sports around, plus championship golf courses, sailing and upbeat nightlife with a good choice of restaurants and waterfront bars. The best testament to the resort’s popularity is the number of repeat visitors; tourists who have fallen in love with everything that it has to offer and make their Caleta de Fuste holidays the highlight of their calendar.
Things to do
If you can bear to tear yourself from the white-sanded beach, you’ll find that the resort offers plenty to see and do. The harbour offers sailing trips and water sports, and is a great place to learn to windsurf and scuba dive. Keen golfers can test their skills at the 18-hole Fuerteventura Golf Club, with courses to suit nervous newbies and seasoned pros. If you’re away with kids, plan a day trip to swim with sea-lions in the island’s fantastic zoo, or cool off on a hot day with a splash around at Acua Water Park, in nearby Corralejo.
Check out Oasis Park Zoo
Caleta de Fuste is home to some of the best wildlife that you’ll find in the Canary Islands thanks to the amazing Oasis Park Zoo. This one-of-a-kind zoo offers you the chance to check out over 250 kinds of animals whilst riding around on the back of a camel. There’s the choice of three restaurants to dine at whilst there, which serve local and international food. If you want to get a little closer and interact with the animals, a petting zoo gives you the chance to touch and befriend many furry companions.
Water sport fun
With most of the fun and excitement being set around the gorgeous beaches in Caleta de Fuste, you’ll discover such classics as diving, jet skiing or kayaking to try whilst on holiday. But if you prefer to stay nice and dry, one of the popular things to do is take a submarine trip around the bay.

Costa Calma
An oasis of palm trees and Canary pines, Costa Calma is a man-made resort, built with careful attention to detail ensuring that you can get whatever you want from your holiday. The beach is the star of the show, dusted with powder-soft sands and the clear, clean waters of the Atlantic Ocean gently lapping at the shore. Sun, sand and sea are what Costa Calma holidays are all about.
However, if all that relaxing isn’t quite what you’re after, there are plenty of water sports to get your heart pumping, such as water-skiing and scuba diving. This resort is much quieter than the rest of the island, and party-heads need to look elsewhere for those late-night clubs and bars. That’s not to say that it is all-quiet here: there are a few well-placed bars and clubs towards the centre of town, perfect for a quiet drink after a leisurely meal and ideal for families who don’t want to be kept awake by noisy nightlife!

Jandia
Jandia began its life as a small, fishing village and has since grown into one of Fuerteventura’s most sought-after holiday destinations. However, don’t take your Jandia holidays expecting a skyline made up of high-rise hotels; this resort has retained much of its original character, particularly in the Old Town. The beach is spectacular, sporting two miles of sugar-coloured, powder-soft sands, gently lapped by the Atlantic Ocean and overlooked by a pretty promenade. For a day out, the Jandia Natural Park is a short drive away, giving you the opportunity to see some of the island’s wildest and most stunning scenery.
