The completely renovated 4-star Barceló Fuerteventura Mar Hotel (formerly Barceló Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa) forms part of the Barceló Fuerteventura Beach Resort. Lovely hotel and Spa facilities included. Food good quality (ignore other reviews) loved our day trip with 'Max' from KaliTour of North of Island is a great experience and paella at fish restaurant sublime!

The refurbishment has worked wonders! Rooms are fresh & spotlessly clean, as is everywhere. Restaurant served delicious food, plenty of choice. As is always the way, some people moaned, but then there’s always the moaners. We had nothing to complain about. The animation team were great, Agata in particular was very good with her tai chi, yoga & stretching classes. All of the animation team did their utmost to ensure everyone had a good time. One of the pools is heated, the unheated one was in the quiet area. Absolutely loads of sunbeds. The hotel is in a lovely position, near the beach. Also, had the choice of using the Castillo bar, which was great, a lovely place to enjoy a drink whilst admiring the view of the harbour. Hope to return later in the year.

I won’t go on like an habitual ranting loony but there are certain things that need addressing. First of all the good…very clean and amazing beds, that’s all I can say on that Booked all inclusive plus at extra cost to get branded drinks and what I believed to be added extras, if there were any added extras we could t find any. Anyway I digress, on arrival we were checked in and told the mini bar would be replenished between 4pm and 6pm. What they failed to say was that was the first day only and to restock would be 20 euros a day…mmmm First night we went to dinner (in the exclusive section) we had waiter service for drinks which was a nice touch. I ordered a Vodka and Tonic with my dinner only to be told NO, No spirits just wine and water. Well I was not happy bunny by this time! May I also point out that even in the all inclusive plus section of the restaurant, you had to go to the main buffet for hot food. I could go on about where this hotel failed to impress but I’d bore you. Suffice to say it is definitively NOT a five stay, it would struggle to make a four.
