Sleep Quality

Overall lovely with some minor reservations

Just returned from a weeks at Secrets on an all inclusive basis. Great welcome at the end of a long day travelling and quick check in. I was in room 602, a sea view double. Nice room very close to reception but more annoyingly the piano bar, which has live music every evening. As I was travelling alone I didn't spend the evening in any of the hotel bars but simply sat on the balcony enjoying the views and sipping my vodka. However a relatively early night was impossible as the noise from the bar was far too loud. The hotel has six restaurants, two of which are informal and again, as a lone traveller I didn't bother to get overly suited and booted to go to the formal venues to sit on my own so I had dinner in the World Cafe. This is a buffet style and to be honest the food was average. Nothing particularly wrong with it, just not inspiring. I did have dinner in my room on a couple of evenings. A fairly limited menu but nice enough and also included in the all inclusive package, apart from a tray charge of €5. The pool areas are lovely and the Barefoot Bar opens at 10.30 each morning serving food and drinks. Plenty of sunbeds but limited shade at certain times as the parasols are fixed so you may be playing musical sunbeds in the afternoon. All staff were lovely, really nice people and very happy to help. In particular Konte who works in the reception area was a star.....a bright beaming smile at all times! I would definitely return to Secrets but would probably upgrade to the Preferred Club which offers exclusive rooms, pool and restaurant and is well away from the piano bar!

Could be soo much better, easily

The resort, immaculate, cleanliness spotless, staff lovely. rating is based on food being very average. It’s what I would call typical 3 star cuisine. To give example, the bluwater grill steak probably the most tasteless rib eye I’ve ever eaten. Not a fault of the chef if the cut isn’t great but it wasn’t seasoned at all either. Jacket potato was basically a biggish salad potato, not a jacket. The breakfast buffet amazing selection but things like fried eggs not left under a heat lamp, so cold when you eat them. This may sound picky but it’s not a cheap hotel and wouldn’t take much to lift it, so I’m giving constructive feedback I hope. The rooms were impeccable, clean and very nicely done. The spa, well best massage I’ve ever had, big thanks to melody! You’re amazing. One thing I did want was to be able to buy bottle of champagne in a bucket for pool area. Appreciate the no bottles or glass policy, but maybe work out a solution so people can buy a nice bottle of something to drink by the pool. We had a lovely time here, it wouldn’t take much to lift it higher!

A lovely escape...

We stayed at this resort in May 2022 on unlimited luxury basis and will gladly visit again. The attentiveness and friendliness of the staff was exemplary (especially Hugo at Reception, Konte in Guest Experience and the guys serving at the Barefoot Grill during the day). Cleanliness throughout the resort was second to none. The atmosphere throughout was very chilled so if you're looking for a lively resort this may not be the place for you (after visiting Secrets Costa Rica 3 times previously we can certainly vouch for this but this is not a criticism of Secrets Lanzarote as it has its own personality). It is ideally located if you wanted to pop to the Marina for a different bar/eating experience (either walking or by taxi). With regard to food - there is plenty of choice in the buffet restaurant and the Barefoot Grill was great. Room service - limited selection but perfectly decent food. Any room for improvement??? Perhaps a small shop on site selling essentials (I'm not saying tat nor merch rather suncreams, international snacks etc) and please turn the food heaters on at breakfast time (but there are plenty of other options available for you to enjoy a good breakfast). Overall a great holiday experience, a wonderful resort and you are made to feel a valued guest at all times.
