Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach, Golf & Spa Resort
4254 reviews
Surrounded by subtropical gardens, Sheraton Fuerteventura is a luxury 5 star resort located in Caleta de Fuste. It overlooks two beaches - La Guirra and Paseo Marítimo and is just a stone’s throw from the golf club, where guests get a discounted rate. Children are welcome too, with the Yambaland Kid’s Club offering activities including mini golf, lego, arts & crafts and aqua disco.
For the grown-ups looking to relax the 1,000m2 Hespérides Thalasso Spa features a sauna, Turkish and Roman baths, an ice pool, foot spa and lifestyle showers. For a personal touch book an appointment to be pampered by a therapist in one of the 12 cabins.
On site there are four swimming pools to choose from, alternatively you can exercise while staying dry on the tennis courts. The island of Fuerteventura offers great hiking and biking opportunities and the hotel staff will be more than happy to advise you on the options available. For individual fitness the gym is open 24/7 boasting cardio, bodybuilding and weightlifting areas.
Los Arcos is the resort’s main restaurant, dishing up Spanish and international cuisine. For lunch or a mid-afternoon snack you may choose to eat at La Veranda, in an informal poolside setting. For something a little fancier, opt for the Mediterranean themed El Faro, open four evenings a week, or delicious pan-Asian fusion served at Wok-n-Zen three nights a week.
Premium Garden View rooms feature either a king sized bed or two singles, while the sofa can convert into somewhere for a little guest to sleep. They also boast a balcony or terrace, minibar, air conditioning, ceiling fan, high speed WiFi and tea & coffee making facilities. Sea view and suite upgrades are also available. The Executive Suite offers a massive 65m2 of space, a separate living area and the option of two queen sized beds.
Sheraton Fuerteventura is just a 10-minute drive from the airport and just 25 minutes from the Guise y Ayose viewpoint, overlooking the Betancuria Natural Park. You can’t leave Fuerteventura without sampling Majorero cheese and the Museo del Queso (20 minutes away) allows you to do just that, after first making you an expert on the local product made from goat’s milk.

As good as it gets for a family holiday ..
We’ve just spent a week at this hotel as a family of 4 and had a fantastic time. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to the other reviews questioning the 5 star rating of the Sheraton - as this is pretty much as good as it gets for a family holiday in Europe. Sure you can get higher levels of personal service at other hotels - but you’re really into the realms of high end adults only at that point. Front of house and customer relations are world class. The staff are superb. Pool is excellent. Never seemed particularly full. Kids had inflatables with no problems. The beach was great and you literally just need to step outside the hotel and you’re there. The kids had a great time in the surf. Food is fine. Good enough choice (we were half board); the hotel bar/cafe was fine for lunch and the restaurant on the jetty just outside was great value too. We had a junior suite which was great for us. Huge super king and 2 beds for the kids. Prices for drinks not extortionate (but reflective of 5 star venue). Small town 10 mins one way - not much there but worth a look; and shopping centre 5/10 mins the other way with a supermarket for snacks and drinks for the room. If I were being hypercritical the carpets and curtains are a bit worn in the corridors and there was a bit of a queue for food at peak times and there is no poolside drink service - but genuinely very minor issues and I’ve not yet been to a hotel that is absolutely perfect. This is as good a holiday and hotel that I’ve been to. Would definitely return.
Great hotel and spa experience in quiet area. Shopping Center in walking distance with some shops and restaurants.
Overall nice resort experience with good spa services and nice pool area. Great breakfast but limited dining options at the time. Very clean but would need some maintenance in certain areas. Great and friendly service in all departments.
Serious security issues
We have just returned from a week stay here - we are a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children. Firstly, I would like to reiterate some of the comments made in other reviews, that this is not a 5 star hotel. We are well travelled and have stayed in many genuine 5 star properties - the Sheraton should be classified as a 4 star, at best. The rooms, public areas, including restaurants and pool area are tired and outdated. Furniture needs replacing in private and public areas. The air-conditioning in our room barely functioned, was old, and needed replacing. The pool sunloungers/tables were tatty and dirty. Not what you expect from a 5 star hotel. In respect of the food itself, it was mediocre, at best, with little choice for children. Despite being on a HB basis, we ate out on several occasions simply to get some variety, particularly for the children. Our biggest issue with this hotel is its housekeeping department and the attitude of the management in respect of the complaint we made. On several occasions we were without towels at all / the correct number of towels for us all. It's a basic thing to get right, yet it wasn't achieved. Moat concerning was the fact that our room was left open and unsecured (the door was propped on the latch) by housekeeping not once, but twice. This was particularly concerning for us, and we have never ever experienced this issue before. Despite reporting both incidents to management whilst in resort and them advising that they would investigate and get back to us, they did not. I also raised concerns during check out, which were met with a half hearted apology. Not good enough. Upon return to the UK, we submitted a formal complaint to Marriott about the clear security issues. We were advised management from the resort would contact us. They did, and again offered a half hearted apology and blamed "human error" for the incidents. You could use that excuse once, but any more than that is not human error, but in fact poor staff conduct and even poorer management supervision. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this hotel and would advise anyone considering doing so to consider what value they place on personal belongings etc. as this hotel has zero commitment to keeping its guests or their belongings safe.
