Not average but not very good either. Just good
Trying not to be too harsh as aware booked this as a cheap break. and knew it was 3 star - you get what you pay for. Check in good. Friendly staff Paid for a pool view room - did not get Allocated room 119 - def not a pool view but a stones throw to the bar . Which was great except no peace for an afternoon siesta - music beat echoed through walls as did the sound of beer barrels being changed . Told hotel full when querying why no pool view room - that’s ok just don’t take a booking and the extra payment for one if you can’t allocate one . Room cleanish - did have to buy a cloth and some disinfectant to get rid of some very suspicious marks off door frames in bathroom and wall . Also to wipe shelf’s out in wardrobes and the floor too . Rooms are tired and could do with a lick of paint and some maintenance but then it wound probably come with a higher price tag . No table to sit at outside . Beds were comfy 2 singles pushed together . . Swimming pool area nice - loved the fact not having to deal with towels on sunbeds at daft o’clock as pool area did not open till 10am although sometimes a little earlier . Pool bar staff and restaurant staff all pleasant . Drinks were local spirits but good measures . Amstel beer . Food - felt breakfast and lunch were very good , did struggle with evening meal a bit on a couple of nights . Especially chefs night . Love fish but it was all too bony . . Would I return - no this was a cheap break to get some r and r and felt we got exactly what we paid for. Except for the room lol . Good location to local bars and shops
Good value for money.
Just returned home after a week's all inclusive stay. I'll try to give an honest review. After an issue with the first room, I asked for a move and were moved the following morning. Room was fine - quite spacious with a terrace. Remember, this is a 3 star hotel not 5, so there is no air- conditioning but it's a nice place for the price. Pool area and room cleaned every morning by a friendly team. The food can be a bit samey but that applies to most AI hotels. Local beers were fine and the included drinks were never short measures! All the staff were friendly and efficient but a special mention for Andrea on reception, who was always helpful and professional. Some areas need a little TLC but don't get the idea it's a bad place because it isn't. It's fine and good value, so don't worry.
A Great Week
We stayed 8th – 15th March and I would go back. Other reviews suggest this place is like marmite you love it or you don’t. Or that may simply depend on which room you are allocated, ours was Ok with TV and Fridge. On the positives the room was cleaned every day, the sun loungers including the roof balcony plentiful, staff very friendly , hotel very nicely positioned for long shoreline and/or a short walk into the centre, with the bus station and outdoor market also a short walk away, and food OK. Danny the entertainment guy in my opinion was more than Ok, and reflecting the vibe of the place was “not in your face.” He endeavoured to cater to the rich mix of French, German, Spanish and British Holiday makers which with our respective cultures can’t have been easy. Returning to the food, in comparison to some All Inclusive there was a limited selection, but also in my experience always something worthwhile. Much of the Meat and Fish was cooked Front of House in the Restaurant as was the Breakfast Pancakes, Omelettes, and Eggs in general. Although not provided you can “rent” without cost but with a small returnable deposit Hair Dryers and Kettles. The Bar served Amstel with the usual selection of “local” spirits which many seemed to enjoy. You could also buy more well known brands and bottled beer. The negatives, yes, very tight with the All Inclusive not allocating the Wristband until I believe 4pm and removing them at Noon Check Out irrespective of when you arrive or leave. If the management is reading this review I suggest they rethink this policy as it does put a crinkle even in my overall positive experience. We too were there when the four large teams of teenage girl wrestlers arrived and I thought the Hotel did well to incorporate them into the general running by allocating them meal times. However even as a 3rd Degree Blackbelt I wasn’t going to stand between them and the Buffet. People are people, the wrestlers were fine just excitable but generally polite teenagers. And we met some great fellow holiday makers of various nationalities and ages there, including a young couple who had visited in February and made the return visit. The All Inclusive Pool Side Snacks are pretty basic Cheese and Ham Sandwiches, Fruit and Croissants, which was actually fine allowing for the fullness of the Breakfast, Lunch and Evening Meal Service Times. In my opinion a great place to use as base or as many did just to spend the whole day by the pool and bar.
