What’s the weather like in Crete in November?
Many people enjoy visiting the beautiful Greek island of Crete, in the Mediterranean, in November. It has plenty of late autumn sunshine and warm days, so it’s fine to wear shorts and t-shirts a lot of the time. The Malia weather in November is generally very pleasant compared to other mainland European spots.
Resorts on the north coast of Crete, such as Elounda, Malia, Aghios Nikolaos, Hersonissos and Heraklion, have slightly lower temperatures than those in the south. This is because of the cooling northerly winds which can reach the island from the Sea of Crete. Crete’s central hills shelter towns along the southern shoreline.
You can expect temperatures to be in the high teens a lot of the time, with the weather in Crete in November having an impressive average of 19°C. The average low on occasional cooler days is around 12°C. The sunshine can last for as long as ten hours each day and the sea temperature of 20°C could tempt you to take a fun dip in the clear blue Mediterranean. The rainfall in Crete in November is less than December and January, at around 87mm for the month, with a wind speed of 9mph.
