      Malia

Malia enjoys a warm, Mediterranean climate that gives the coastal town a constant supply of sunshine and heat that lasts year-round. Located on the north-east corner of Crete in Greece, the best time to visit Malia is the summer. The weather is beautiful with sizzling temperatures and highs of 25°C in August. Winter is the coolest time to visit and there’s also an increase in rainfall. The average temperature ranges from lows of 8°C up to 16°C at peak times of the day. It’s easy to underestimate the power of the sun. In July and August, UV levels are very high and it’s important to wear enough sun cream and stay out of the sun from 12pm to 3pm. If you’re outside during this time, you can seek shade under a tree or parasol on the beach. The water is great for cooling down, with sea temperatures being very warm and comfortable throughout the summer and early autumn.
