Getting around Kassiopi

By car: You’ll find lots of reputable car hire companies based at Corfu Airport, so you can pick one up as soon as you arrive at the airport. Book in advance for the best price. Driving is a great way to get to the resort, and the simplest way to explore the island at leisure (with or without the family in tow).

By bus: a local bus service runs to places of interest like Corfu Town. Tickets are really cheap and can be a good option for day trips. Find the main bus stop in the main square; it goes about five times a day in high season.

By taxi: It’s easy to find a taxi when you arrive at Corfu Airport (or you can book a transfer in advance), and they’re also available in the main square.

Wine festival: In September, the annual Wine Festival arrives. You’ll find this even on the waterfront, where you can sample a plethora of local wines in the sunshine. Of course, all these tipples are accompanied by delicious Greek food and music, plus a bustling party atmosphere.

Beer festival: If beer is your beverage of choice, you’ll be keen to take the 45-minute journey to Arillas to experience the Corfu Beer Festival (held in September or October). This town is home to the Corfu Microbrewery, which brews five different local beers; you can try them all out at the festival, with a side of juicy lamb souvlaki.

Corfu enjoys gloriously long and warm summers, but it’s a little bit cooler than the scorching temperatures on mainland Greece. Kassiopi tends to average in the mid-20s°C from late spring through to September, and even as late as October. But in the peak summer season, it’s not uncommon for temperatures to hit 30 and above. There’s more rain from the autumn through to February, but even winter remains mild. Temperatures rarely fall below 10°C, so Kassiopi holidays are a good year-round option.
