What’s the weather like in Mykonos in February?
The Mykonos weather in February is mild, sunny and with some light showers. This exciting Greek island boasts some of the best winter temperatures throughout Europe, although it’s not warm enough to swim and sunbathe along the stunning sandy beaches.
Geographical influences
Mykonos enjoys a fantastic Mediterranean-like climate. The island is found to the south-east of mainland Greece and the mild Aegean Sea helps to stop temperatures falling too low on the island. February’s part of the wet season but Mykonos is still much drier than the UK at this time.
Averages
Even though it’s winter, make sure you pack your sunglasses, as Mykonos has around seven to eight hours of sunshine each day in February. It rises just after 7am and doesn’t set until around 6pm. The average daytime temperature’s 12°C but this could rise by a few degrees on sunny days. In the evenings it’ll feel a bit chilly with lows of about 8°C or 9°C. Showers can be brief this month and it’s expected that 72mm of rain will fall over nine or ten wet-weather days. The Aegean Sea’s usually around 16°C. The pleasant weather in Mykonos in February makes it a great spot for a quiet winter break to this superb Greek retreat.
