    Mykonos weather December

What’s the weather like in Mykonos in December?

Even though it’s winter around Europe, the idyllic Greek island of Mykonos still has a mild climate with a good amount of sunshine. You can expect some showers, but the Mykonos weather in December has temperatures well into double figures.

    Geographical influences

Mykonos enjoys a breath-taking spot in the Aegean Sea between Greece and Turkey. It’s part of the picturesque islands of Cyclades. The mild seas around the island, which will be about 17°C at this time, help to stop temperatures on the land from falling too low.

Come to Mykonos around Christmas time and you’ll find a peaceful resort with winter sunshine and impressive temperatures. On average it’ll be 13°C during the day and feel very pleasant in the sun. The average low’s 8°C and it could be chilly at night, so wrap up warm if you’re heading out for dinner or an evening walk. The sunshine lasts for six hours each day and the sun sets at 5pm. December’s one of the wettest months of the year and produces about 102mm over 11 rainy days. The sea temperature’s 17°C which is probably too cool for swimming. The weather in Mykonos in December is some of the warmest in Europe and is perfect for a relaxing winter escape.
