The village centre is a car-free zone, so the only way to get around is by walking or taking a so-called Lindos taxi – a donkey. You’re bound to find traditional, one-of-a-kind gems here that you won’t get anywhere else.

Look on a Lindos map and you’ll see that this idyllic coastal resort is only 50km or so from the island capital, Rhodes Town. If you want to explore this historic settlement, it’s easy to plan a daytrip to see its UNESCO-protected Old Town. You can either take the bus, which is a great way to meet the locals, or hire a car.
