Madrid is a sightseeing hotspot with adorned streets that are home to dramatic architecture, royal palaces and historic landmarks, like the Alcala Gate. Puerta del Sol can be found in the centre of the city and is a spacious pedestrian area that is surrounded by impressive buildings and monuments.

Look out for Madrid's iconic emblem, the bear and the strawberry tree, which stands in the middle of the paved area. Stroll around the city to see elegant art deco buildings, quaint cafes and charming museums. Visit the symmetric square of the 17th century Plaza Mayor to see the military style buildings and bronze statue of King Phillips III.
