    Kos weather May

What's the weather like in Kos in May?

Kos is in the Aegean close to the southwest coast of Turkey, meaning the island has a typical Mediterranean climate. The long hot summer starts in May and you'll have plenty of sun and not much rain at this time of year. There’s not much difference in weather around Kos as it’s relatively flat, although there are mountains that will shelter you if you're in the south. You'll also be kept cooler on the coast by the pleasant sea breezes.

The average high in Kos is 24ºC in May, which is lovely for relaxing on the beach. Things cool to quite a pleasant 15ºC at night, so you should bring at least a warm jumper for the evenings. The sea temperature is 19ºC, while humidity’s low. There’s 21mm of rain over four days, and you can expect 14 hours of daylight with 11 hours of sunshine each day. Make sure you use plenty of sun cream as UV levels will be very high. The sun goes down at 8pm at the start of the month and gradually gets later.
