    Hersonissos weather February

What’s the weather like in Hersonissos in February?

If you aren’t used to the Mediterranean heat and want to enjoy a lot of outdoor activities on holiday, February is the perfect month to visit. Hersonissos weather in February is mild during the daytime with long days packed with sunshine and some light showers scattered over the month.

    Geographical influences

February is one of the coolest and wettest times to visit Hersonissos, but it’s still a lot warmer and drier than the UK. Temperatures are mild and remain in the mid-teens for most of February with warmer weather arriving towards the end of the month. The resort is somewhat cooler than the south of Crete as it doesn’t receive the same protection from northerly winds as the south gets from the central mountain range. This means that you can expect cooler weather in the resort, which isn’t a bad thing since it makes activities like sightseeing and exploring the island more enjoyable.

Temperatures are at their lowest overnight, when the average low drops to 8°C after sunset. Things pick up again in the morning and highs of 15°C are expected from 12pm to 3pm, which is the hottest time of the day. There are ten hours of sunshine per day with 75% humidity. 11mph winds blow in from the Sea of Crete, so a jacket might be needed to defeat the cooler weather on windy days. The average monthly rainfall is 64mm, so there are around ten wet days during the month.
